Hannah Joyce | Home Design & DIY on Instagram: "One of the best decision I made for our kitchen remodel was using 24x48” tile as the backsplash, giving it the high end slab look for under $500! Recommendations for Install: - Install tiles as close together as possible, and choose a grout color same as the tile color to make the seams virtually invisible - Use a 3” diamond tile blade to cut the outlet holes - Line up the tiles in advance of install to match the veins between pieces. You can always buy extra pieces and return them In this kitchen I used Rialto Grand 24x48 tile from @flooranddecor. I used 7 tiles total and it cost under $500! Valeria Jacobs on Instagram: "What I Got vs. How We Used It: Kitchen Reveal! My SIL loves the look of marble, but not the maintenance or the price tag. So, when I found this gorgeous large format tile from @thetileshop, I knew it would be the perfect alternative for the backsplash. #thetileshoppartner Compared to the thousands a marble slab would cost, we spent under $600 on tile, and it perfectly completed the vision we had for this space. The key to this project was getting a couple of extra boxes so we had enough tile to work with. We started by laying all the tiles out on the floor like a big puzzle, carefully matching the pattern as closely as possible for a seamless look. While this kitchen is full of DIYs, we decided to hire professional tile installers due to timing. Hannah Joyce | Home Design & DIY on Instagram: "Using these huge tiles for my kitchen backsplash was one of the best cost saving design elements in my house. Slabs of stone can cost thousands, but with this method I used seven 24”x48” tiles costing under $500. They were installed on cement board like any other tile install, with 1/16 spacers so the grout lines are really small. I laid out the tiles beforehand to match up the pattern as close as possible. The outlet holes were cut with a 3” diamond tile blade, because the pieces are so big a regular blade could break the tile.

Comment “tile” to get the link to these tiles and some of my other favorite large tile options.
