Lonestar quilts

A very pretty Lone Star quilt by Lynn. She is such a great piecer, points all match, everything is square and flat- makes my life much easier! This is my newest favorite back ground filler in the light areas. It's a take off of McTavishing, and I think much prettier. I gave the inside border and the stars some quilted borders to set them off a bit from the fill work. Batik deconstructed lonestar

My second ever #Lonestar Quilt, which is one of my favorite patterns. This one uses Kim Diehl's Helping Hands fabric line - one of my favorite designers when choosing traditional fabrics. I used a combination of custom ruler work and free-motion #Longarm quilting. This one is displayed in my house and one of my current favorites.

I have two Lone Star quilts to share with you today and they were made by Florence who will be giving them to her granddaughters for their graduation this June. The first one is made in pinks and greys and the inner grey border has a very pretty feather print. Lots of flowing feathers and CC’s in the diamond shapes to give it wonderful texture. The second one is made in bolder colour palette of blue, green and purple fabrics and quilted very similar to the first one.
