News flash for the people of Sichuan and Chongqing, the most "authentic" mala (numb and spicy) hotpot is found in Taiwan...not my personal opinion BTW, just relaying what some of the islanders argue. Unfortunately, I won't be the one to tell you who's right and who's wrong, but I can tell you that the two versions taste drastically different, see what I'm talking about in this YouTube video in the link.
