Stick library for dogs

While trimming trees, craftsman Andrew Taylor decided to use the dead branches to create a "stick library" for his dog Bella.

The popular Little Free Library book-share program inspired one skilled woodworker to create a similar little library—for dogs!

PupPup, age 1, presides over a colorful repository of balls and sticks on Addison Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Way. He's a little too fond of borrowing from his own supply.

Little free libraries adorn many neighborhoods and parks across the country, including more than a dozen in the Hickory area. While they have been around for some time, a new type of library is becoming popular and popping up in various places.
