Years ago, I wrote a piece for this blog that included a recipe for Flower Pot Brioche. While that is truly a stunning loaf of bread, brioche takes two days to make if you do it right. I know that baking is daunting for people when it takes 20 minutes. When it takes two days?

I first discovered these flower pot bread loaves when having lunch with a friend at Terrain Cafe. I thought it was such a cute and clever idea that I've been making them ever since.

Only use new pots. Thoroughly scrub with warm soapy water using a Dobie or 3M pad (this will help remove any small burrs). Rinse well. Completely submerge the pots in water and soak them for several hours. Allow them to dry overnight.
