Fantasy Life i is out next month, sadly it is very $$$, and it has kernel level anti cheat, which means I can’t be sure whether it works on the deck at all :( We’ll see. 60/70 € isn’t really a gamble I wanna take.

Fantasy Life on the 3ds was basically the game I bought the console for, and this one looks so nice. More lives - painter! :D - Open world, swimming, climbing, yay.

My dumb lazy ass missed buying Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon while it was still 29€ in EA, it increased in price a while ago. Read about terrible performance on the deck, and while the demo wasn’t stellar, I had stable 30 FPS, so I am willing to risk it.

I am a bit annoyed the demo is just the prologue, which does not really show the open world you’d enter after, because I am afraid performance will be worse there. Well, can always refund, I guess. Reminded me strongly of Oblivion, and like in Oblivion, I was completely overwhelmed, lol.

The kickstarter for Windstorm just ended, funded at 500k, which means it unlocked even the falconry stretch goal, and I am here for it. Have to wait for performance reviews on that one, my desktop would barely meet minimum requirements, but couldn’t run it due to DX 12, so the deck is probably not gonna be great, either. If it runs, I’ll get it.

I have no fucking clue if Glintseeker Island will be out this year or when, but I need it in my life, I was addicted to the DPPt mining minigame.

There is also World of Anterra, which uh. I’m lazily eyeing from the sidelines, as it seems to be rather taking its time. Following the discord so I might consider getting a preorder in for the rewards lol.

(Yes, yes, you shouldn’t preorder games, but does that really apply to small indie titles? Pf.)

Not quite upcoming releases, but I still haven’t bought BG3, and I do so want Avowed, but again, I could only play it on the deck, and the performance seems lackluster at best. Hoping valve will add some frame gen into gamemode, perhaps? :D

There are also at least two pokemon hacks scheduled to release soon™ - Pokemon Odyssey and Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries. Both have some features I eye warily. Odyssey seems to be all double battles, and I don’t like double battles, while Dreamstone locks you in a route and prevents you from going back, which sucks if all you wanna do is grind (and also you suck). Will give both a chance, though. Another one that might be out this year is Pokemon Lazarus, and that one is gonna be so good :D

He drew his comm and ran for the exit point. Keira had to be there by now, she had to be sending the Underground through the maintenance crawl. Or maybe they were already outside, or—

“Jak? What'd you do?”

“Tell me you're outside.”

“You're kidding, right? We just got Banks. We're heading to the north block, and then we're out of here.”

Banks. Not even the north block. That meant they didn't have—
Jak stumbled to a halt. His heart pounded in his head.

They didn't have Daxter.

They didn't have him, and Jak'd just made a level three biochemical hazard in the closest hallway to the north block. The other one was all the way on the other side of the floor.

Between the eco spill and the all-units advisory that guard had gotten out, every guard for three sectors would be converging on the Fortress.

Keira and the Underground had to get out.

They had to get out, meet up with Keira's girlfriend, and get into safehouses now because if they didn't, if they were still here when all the guards showed up—

If Keira tried to get to Daxter, none of them would be getting out.

Jak's stomach surged into his throat, making him gag. He choked on the bile, wheezed through the burn in his lungs. He'd just added at least another twenty minutes to this mission, and Keira didn't have twenty minutes. But if they didn't get to Daxter, then Maia would.

And then Daxter would pay for what Jak had done.

“Jak? Jak, do you copy?”

He breathed deep, swallowed hard. This wasn't fair. It wasn't fair of him. But he had no choice. Keira's group couldn't cross the eco.

“Reroute. Head for the exit. Take the Underground with you.”

“But Jak, what about—”

“I'm going to get him.”

He'd bring Daxter home.
