This was the best TSA approved dog carrier for my 20lb 18in long bichon-poodle! The carrier expands 4 ways which gave him extra room whilst underneath the seat! 1. Make sure to get an airline-approved pet carrier (preferably a soft-sided one) - dimensions usually must be less than 18” x 11” x 11”.

2. Check with your airline for their max. allowed pet weight (typically 25lbs or less).

3. Reserve a pet carrier ticket at least 48 hours before your flight, but preferably 1 week in advance to make sure there’s enough space on the plane. 

4. You don’t need any health documentation for domestic flights, but for international travel all countries require proof of rabies vaccination and many also require a health certificate from your vet.

5. Pack treats, your pet’s favorite toys, portable pet water bottle, and portable litter box (for cats) for 4hr+ flights.
