You know the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover?” The same rule can be changed into “Don’t judge a person by its ink.” Getting some body art inked is probably one of the best ways for self-expression—be it a drawing in remembrance of your past beliefs, shenanigans or a minimal tattoo filled with deep meanings. No tattoo design is meaningless or ugly because there’s always something bigger behind it. At least to the person who chose the unique tattoo.

A little while ago I was at a pub and noticed an amazing tattoo of the Egypto-Roman Goddess Isis underneath the shirt of the man across from me – I was super impressed and we got talking … turned out he got the tattoo because he just thought it was a cool design; wasn’t a Pagan at all. Although, strangely, he did claim to have been a gigolo when he was younger. I have no idea if this was true but I did later hear a story (apparently true) that he fell in love with a woman who lived overseas…

The Festival of Diana is on February 12th, a celebration of the Moon goddess, Diana. Its a time for Witches, Wiccans and Pagans to honor Diana in all her wonderful, varying aspects. Diana is a very special goddess to many magickal practitioners who honor and work with her daily. Sometimes she is called Queen of Heaven, our triple goddess as a Lunar Virgin, Mother of all Creatures and Wild Huntress. On February 12th we celebrate and embrace all that is her complex persona.
