Aged wood beams are one of the most sought after features right now. There are plenty options out there. However, old, salvaged-wood beams are usually very heavy and are often compromised by warping or insect damage. Instead of overthinking ways to create faux beams, I decided to use imperfect 2x4s to create the look that I wanted.
