My specialty: I make the leaf and flower patterns for all of my miniature plants from colored oven-hardening polymer clay using the cane technique. I stack different colored clay together to form patterns and reduce the size to a few mm. This makes very delicate and realistic patterns possible. But it also takes some practice and a lot of patience. The stem is made of floral wire and the pot is made by me from transparent resin. I really wanted a transparent pot for the orchids. The nursing pots fit perfectly into the orchid planters. All parts have magnets to attach to each other and my custom made wooden shelves. Mount Baker Orchid Society Show

Saturday, March was spent at Skagit Valley Nursery working at the annual Mount Baker Society Orchid Show. Our society is quite small and the show accordingly small, with six displays and about an equal number of vendors. It is usually the only show I in which I put in a display and one of only a very few I attend, so it is especially enjoyable for me.
