It's not often, but it seems to be an occurrence from previous veterinary hoof trims that lead a pig to pain as extreme as this. There is a pattern on darker colored hooves, called the white or grey line. This line is where the sole of the hoof is located, which should never be trimmed into. If cut into the sole, a pig can bleed for days, if not weeks, and become lame. Proper care is taken as to not file too short, or too deep when filing and balancing mini pig hooves.
