1. slang, verb To beg for or sponge things from other people. Primarily heard in Australia. My brother's been botting ever since he dropped out of college, and our poor parents give him everything he asks for. I hate having to bot like this, but until I find a new job, I'm pretty broke. Sarah made a point of setting out on her own as soon as she finished high school, but her younger brother has none of her drive. He tends to just bot for money.
2. slang, noun Someone who begs or sponge things from other people. Primarily heard in Australia. I always pay my own way, don't worry. If we go on this trip together, I won't be a bot. I hate having to be a bot, but until I find a new job, I'm pretty broke. Every group of friends has at least one bot. You know the type, the one who mooches drinks and food off everyone whenever you go out.
3. informal, noun A shortening of "robot." In the show, they pilot giant bots to fight against monsters from another planet. Wanna come over and play with this cool new bot I built? I'm not looking for an assistant who's a bot. I want someone who can give me honest, thoughtful feedback and can make decisions on their own.
4. noun A computer program that is able to operate autonomously, usually on the Internet. A: "What are all these gibberish spam messages on the message board?" B: "Looks like some bots got to it overnight." How many actual users do they have, though? So many of these accounts seem like bots. Ask a moderator to delete these bots so that the rest of us can actually continue our conversation.

A computer program that is able to interact with users and simulate human conversation. Is there any way for me to talk to an actual human, instead of a chatbot?
