Pinched Pottery on Instagram: "7” in diameter 2” deep coiled/pinched bowl. Made with mid fire dark stoneware clay and glazed with matte green/sage glaze. Started with a ball of clay and added a few coils. I don’t use water or slip when coiling - clay has to be quite soft to be able to blend in well without water/slip. I always rough shape them first, let them dry until they are firm enough to be handled without losing their shape to do the final shaping/pinching. Full making videos are saved on story highlights. . . . . . #stoneware #darkclay #handbuiltpottery #noodlebowl #handbuilding #ceramiclove #rustic #ceramics #tableware #ceramicbowls #soupbowls #pinchpots #coilbuiltpottery #handbuiltceramics #coilpot #pinchedpottery" Ceramic Pinch Pots Ideas, Coiling Clay, Pinched Pottery, Pottery Slips, Ceramics Tableware, Coil Pot, Clay Workshop, Clay Pinch Pots, Pottery Slip

Kieu Tran on Instagram: "In case you were worried, the work is always embraced and loved before it leaves the studio. ☺️💞 Here are some glimpses into my studio practice. I use a groggy mid-fire stoneware clay. I use traditional coil, slab and pinch techniques to make my hollow ceramic sculptures. These are techniques that have been used for thousands of years. Coil building is an ancient ceramic process of rolling out “snakes” of clay, placing them in the desired shape, and smoothing them together. I blend my hand rolled coils together using my fingers with a hand inside to support the walls. I then use a variety of metal and rubber ribs to blend and smooth my pieces to the desired result. ✨" Ceramic Coil Sculpture, Clay Coil Sculpture, Coil Built Ceramics, High School Ceramics Projects, Coil Building Ceramics, Coiled Ceramics, Coil Sculpture, Art Igcse, Earth Bending

Ceramic Vase - The graceful dance of underwater plants is captured in the gently curled petals of this wheel-thrown porcelain vase. The interior is covered with a luscious shade of coral pink, and the exterior is impressed with plants, coral, and shells to create an organic, oceanic texture.

As each is created individually, there will be slight variances in the texture and shape.
