This rare Tesuque Pueblo pottery dough bowl dates from the mid- to late-nineteenth century, probably circa 1870s. It has design elements in black on a white slip without any red in the design, but the rim is red. The only other red is the traditional wiped-on red band below the design panel.

Elizabeth Medina - Zia Olla Pottery Vase - Pueblo Bird Design - 5 1/2" Tall. It is signed on near the bottom edge. There is a chip on the rim and a little scuffing on the paint. See the close-up photos. She was inspired by and taught to make pottery by her mother-in-law. Early in her career, she was granted permission by the Zia Pueblo Elders to make pottery in the Zia style and tradition.
