Ocarina of Time Link but its REALLY obvious he’s actually still ten in his brain.
Like people try to talk to him but he doesn’t talk very much, mostly because he’s ten and kind of stupefied by adults talking to him. Very polite. (Because Navi is yelling in his ear to be polite.) Laughs at stupid shit. Picky eater. Gets bored easily and just leaves. Obvious to people hitting on him. Forgets he’s not ten and will play tag and stuff with village kids. Bad at reading higher level adult social cues. Cries when he gets frustrated. Shocked when people are needlessly mean. Like would stare in horror and go, “That’s really mean. Why would you do that?” if someone does something shitty while he’s there.
So, like, there are probably at least a few journals belonging to people in the Adult Timeline where they were like, “Met the Hero of Time yesterday. He literally cried when I told him there was a house of giant spiders next door that needs clearing. It was kind of adorable, but alarming.”
I just keep imagining he does some fetch quest for some rude-ass villager out of the goodness of his heart and they yell at him for not doing it fast enough. So he just bursts into tears and they’re like “UHHHHHH.” Then they get yelled at by everyone else.
So most of Hyrule thinks Link is just a really sensitive teenager rather than a confused ten-year-old.
