Sip & Sew on Instagram: "TUTORIAL: today … the Satin stitch (my FAV!) is a basic embroidery technique that involves creating smooth, solid lines of stitching.   Step 1: Choose a thread color that you want to use for your satin stitch. Thread your needle and knot the end of the thread.   Step 2: Start by bringing your needle up from the back of the fabric at the starting point of your satin stitch line.   Step 3:  Make a straight stitch across the width of the area you want to cover with satin stitch. Keep the stitch length consistent for a smooth finish.   Step 4:  Bring the needle back up slightly to the side of the first stitch. Then, bring the needle back down on the opposite side of the first stitch, creating a smooth, solid line of stitches.
