This is one of my ikebana flower arrangements, ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arranging. I am a student of the Sogetsu ikebana school of Japan. This is a basic upright "nageire" arrangement. Arrangement I did for my ikebana lesson with Sachiko Colom and Sue Looney on 21 March 2009. Sachiko and Sue had really different ideas on which way to position the forsythia (my original plan was to do it a different way, which Sachiko favored, though eventually I went with Sue's suggestion so that I could have the one piece curve out to the front and right as seen in the picture).
