I had a bit of difficulty locating this one. The two ornate houses and all the ones in the foreground right have been replaced by the block of flats. Beyond the ornate houses, the five houses with the attic windows still exist but the roofs have been rebuilt. There's still a garage just out of shot today. This part of Herbert Road has changed quite a bit in the last 100 years or so.

Description: Laszlo Torday arrived in Tynemouth in January 1940 from Hungary and took most of his photographs of Tyneside during the 1960's and 1970's.
