That determines the popularity of modern education of leaders where the curriculum is based on pragmatism and consumerism principles. But the concept of leadership is changing influenced by the idea of postmodernism. It is claimed that leadership involves the relations between a leader and his/her followers based on influence aimed at implementation of changes for mutual aims and not only pragmatic management. However, the question arises concerning what the influence is, who is a person possessing this influence: is he/she an example, a manipulator, an advisor or a guide? Discussion about the interface of concepts of leadership and moral authority provides the basis for a new approach to leadership education, stressing the importance of moral values and their influence for the followers. Keywords: leadership, moral authority, leader’s values, postmodernism SANTRAUKA Nors lyderystės terminas pradėtas naudoti maždaug prieš 200 metų, o lyderystės teorijos atskyrimas nuo vadybos mokslo teorijos siekia XX amžiaus pradžią, neretai lyderystės tyrėjų darbuose lyderystės sąvoka vis tik tapatinama su vadovavimu.

Description: The increased health needs related to the ageing society and epidemiological patterns in these countries also require funding needs to increase, rationing to be reformed, sectors to be integrated (the managed care approach), and an analytical information base to be developed if supervision of new technological approaches is to improve. The period of system transitions in CEE countries entailed significant changes in their health systems, including health care financing. Discussion: Large deficits in the public financing of health systems were just one of the challenges arising from the economic downturn of the 1990s, which was coupled with inflation, increasing unemployment, low salaries, a large informal sector and tax evasion in a number of CEE countries. During the communist period, there was universal access to a wide range of health services, proving it difficult to retain this coverage. As a result, many states sought to ration publicly funded health servicesfor example, through patient cost-sharing or decreasing the scope of basic benefits. Yet, not all of these reform plans were implemented, and in fact, some were rolled back or not implemented at all due to a lack of social or political consensus. Conclusion: CEE health systems had come to practice implicit rationing in the form of under-the-table payments from patients, quasi-formal payments to providers to compensate for lack of funding, and long waiting lists forcing patients to the private sector. All these difficulties pose a challenge to the implementation of integrated care.

A well-functioning organization is first identified with its leader very often. Therefore, it is very important to question the attitude of leadership constantly, not to devalue it, but to understand it better and realize it. Moreover, the expression of leadership in different organizations is very distinct, and its specificity in areas such as health care is still insufficiently explored. Healthcare organizations hold strict hierarchy, therefore leadership is considered as equal to the administrative position. Modern conceptualizations such as transactional, shared, authentic and other leadership theories point to the educational power of a leadership; however, implementation remains challenging. The article presents the analytical-theoretical point of view and interpretive approach for case study about leadership. Firstly, the article introduces research evidence analysis of leadership educational impact for integrat...

The lack of such researches encouraged to carry out the research and to determine if the mentor’s leadership competencies have an effect on performance of mentor’s functions, i.e. to determine the correlations between the mentor’s leadership competencies and the quality of mentor’s functions performed. It was determined average strong, statistically significant linear positive correlation between mentor’s leadership competences and the quality of mentor’s functions performed. This correlation means that if mentor has stronger leadership competences, he or she performs mentor‘s functions better.
