In this paper, direct adaptive backstepping control with tuning functions approach for a single-l... more In this paper, direct adaptive backstepping control with tuning functions approach for a single-link flexible-joint robot model is proposed. The proposed approach of adaptation is based on the tracking error based parameter adaptation law. First, the direct adaptive backstepping control with tuning functions is applied for a class of nonlinear systems in parametric strict-feedback form to avoid overparametrization. Next, the main steps of the controller design for a single-link flexible-joint robot manipulator model are described. The stability of the proposed controller is studied by using the Lyapunov functions. Finally, the simulation results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed approach.

Bimetallic weld techniques have progressed a great deal in the last decade. In this work, the eff... more Bimetallic weld techniques have progressed a great deal in the last decade. In this work, the effect of the filler metal composition on microstructure and mechanical behavior of dissimilar HSLA-X70/304L stainless steels weld joint is investigated. The dissimilar weld joints are fabricated using austenitic, duplex and low Carbone filler metal. The mechanical behavior is investigated through microhardness, charpy impact and tensile test. The results show that, the weld metal composition has a great influence on mechanical properties and microstructure of weldments, in particular the grain size and phases nature, changes with filler metal composition. In addition presence of martensitic slats in the FZ when using the low Carbone filler metal, detailed microstructure examination is carried out and related to the mechanical behavior of the dissimilar joints.

This paper focuses on the development of a fractional PID control of gas metal arc welding system, wherein the current and voltage of welding process are controlled using a fractional PID controller, then the system analyzed and the results compared with conventional PID controller show adequate improvement in the efficiency and performance of the proposed controller.

In this study the effect of quantum well number on the characteristics (J-V), (P-V) and efficiency for the structure GaN/In 0.15 Ga0.85 N/ GaN was studied. our result showed that, the increase in the number of wells is accompanied by the increase of the light current density and the efficiency, for example with 50 wells we found Jight = 14(mA /cm2) and a efficiency 28%.

It consists of two major parts: vibration signal feature extraction and condition classification for the extracted features. In this paper Autoregressive Modeling followed by Principal Components Analysis (PCA) was introduced for feature extraction from faulty bearing vibration signals. After extracting feature vectors by AR-PCA, the support vector machine (SVM) was applied to automate the fault diagnosis procedure. To improve the classification accuracy for bearing fault prediction, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is employed to simultaneously optimize the SVM kernel function parameter and the penalty parameter. The results have shown feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Dans cet article nous avons modelise et simule numeriquement le champ thermique lors du soudage l... more Dans cet article nous avons modelise et simule numeriquement le champ thermique lors du soudage laser de deux pieces carrees (TA6V). Le modele mathematique utilise tient compte de l’effet de convection. La chaleur latente de fusion est introduite aussi dans le modele comme une source dans l’equation de chaleur. Les resultats obtenus sont presentes en deux dimension (2D) pour un laser Co2 avec une puissance de 4.5 kw et un diametre de faisceaux estime de 0.2mm. Pour le traitement de ce probleme nous avons developpe un code de calcul en fortran base sur la methode numerique des differences finis en utilisant le schema ADI (Alternating Direction Implicit).
