Despite one paper (Bevins et al, 2024) providing compelling evidence that the Altar Stone does not exactly match the composition of Old Red Sandstone beds on the Orkney Mainland, those responsible for transporting the stone to Stonehenge were almost certainly its original builders, the Grooved Ware culture, who first emerged on Orkney during the Late Neolithic. We look at everything known about the Altar Stone and how its presence at Stonehenge might relate to its construction. We also go in search of its lost companion, and examine where both these huge monoliths might have stood within the monument, and how all this might relate to the monument's underlying geometry.

Since 2019 excavations have revealed a series of installations dating from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A period (circa 9600-8800 BCE) through till the end of the Early Pre-Pottery Neolithic B period (circa 8200-8000 BCE). The author reports on the layout and potential functionality of three interconnected bedrock structures focusing on their cultic symbolism and potential usage.

The monarch's life and achievements show that she was a powerful ruler that managed to hold together the kingdom as it tittered on the brink of collapse, initiating a new nationalistic dynasty whose descendants would eventually rise up against the Hyksos warlords of the Second Intermediate Period. The mystery surrounding Sobekneferu's reign, her magical and religious beliefs, and her legacy in the nineteenth century led to her coming to the attention of speculative Egyptological writers such as the mythologist Gerald Massey, and through this attention she would go on to feature as the antagonist in Irish writer Bram Stoker's Egyptian novel The Jewel of Seven Stars (1903). We take a brief look at all aspects of her life and achievements as a preview to the monarch's first full-length biography The First Female Pharaoh (2023), penned by the present author.

However, separate traditions held by these peoples talk about the Animiki´being shape-shifting giants birds that can assume human form by removing their " feather blankets,' and even have mortal families. The author proposes that earthly Animikiáre a memory of Denisovan and arguably Denisovan-Neanderthal-modern human groups that thrived in parts of North America through until the first millennia BC, when they became the extremely tall ruling elites and shamans of the Adena mound-building culture (the so-called " Adena elite " theory). Knowledge that modern Algonquian language-speaking populations such as the Ojibwa and Cree likely possess Denisovan ancestry, while the Denisovans themselves are now thought to have been of large stature, adds weight to these suggestions.

Yet lurking in the back of one of its display areas is a stone carving from Göbekli Tepe that almost certainly shows either a penguin or the great auk. But which is it? Various other major and minor light dimming episodes occurred across the entire Kepler mission, with an eclectic series of theories being offered to account for them. Experimental attempts are made to physically model the occulting objects behind the drops in flux to try and determine their line of sight profile, and through this their nature and appearance. The Kepler data for KIC 8462852 is reexamined to better understand the 0.88-day, 24.2-day and 48.4-day periodicities noted in connection with the star's light dimming events. These reveal cyclic patterns that seem almost mechanical in nature, as well as recurring number sequences that warrant further investigation.

In addition to this, the etching on its surface might well be the earliest known use of a 3D perspective in prehistoric art. The plaque’s finely carved imagery also reignites the debate over the axial orientation of the site’s main enclosures and any potential astronomical targets during the epoch of their construction.

With the opening of Sanliurfa's new archaeological museum full attention has been given to its in... more With the opening of Sanliurfa's new archaeological museum full attention has been given to its incredible reconstruction of Göbekli Tepe's Enclosure D, complete with its twin monoliths standing an almighty 5.5 metres (18 feet) high, and its stone-by-stone reconstruction of Nevali Çori's cult building. Yet lurking in the back of one of its display areas is a stone carving from Göbekli Tepe that almost certainly shows either a penguin or the great auk. But which is it? Learning the answer could throw greater light on the geographical origins of the Göbekli builders.

This includes its role in the re-dating of the Great Sphinx and fixing the date for zep tepi, the age of the gods in ancient Egypt. We examine also the stellar significance of the Great Pyramid’s four air shafts, and whether it is the “belt” stars of Orion or the “wing” stars of Cygnus that better match the geographical positioning of the Giza Pyramids. Finally, we look at the dual role Orion and Cygnus played both in ancient Egypt, and within the afterlife cosmology of North America’s Southeastern Ceremonial Complex (SECC).
