The manner of determining the form deviations influences the accuracy and functionality of the mechanisms. This article presents some theoretical considerations on factors influencing the roundness assessment (evaluation method, the number of measurement points on the periphery of the part, distribution of measuring points, eccentricity of the part from rotation axis). The paper presents also a measurement software whose uncertainty will be determined by computerized simulation and experimental methods.

With quality control being an important issue in industry, there is a great need for free form surfaces measurements in manufacturing. With manufacturing processes becoming increasingly more flexible, there is also a demand for increasing flexibility of measuring machines. This paper presents two systems for 3D surfaces measurement: first equipment for macro geometry measurement, has three inter-changeable measurement heads which can be easy mounted on its Z axis and allow contact or non-contact measurements (this system is developed under a project funded by National Program Partnerships in Priority Areas); the second equipment, for 3D roughness measurement, is based on confocal microscopy and incorporate a high precision X-Y coordinate table.

By selecting these sinusoids in a judicious way, in defining the methods of smart measurement of a part, it is possible to separate the geometrical elements of a part into geometric elements of the shape (circularity, eccentricity, etc.) of the geometric elements corresponding to the state surfaces. This article, using the research carried out under the doctoral thesis “COMPLEX STUDIES, RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION OF PRECISION MECHANICAL GEARING TRANSMISSIONS USING HIGH PRECISION HARMONICS METHODS ”, aims to perform an original work and thus to present and analyze the main methods of processing the data gathered in the process measurement of the parts made and used in mechatronic equipment by resorting to harmonic analysis.

This system can be easily reconfigured and it can be used for other types of processing.

The teeth shaft and checking gears in contact are driven into a rotation movement by an AC (alternating current) gear motor with reducer and speed variation, with a speed of 30–40 rpm. The “shocks”, respectively the toothing defects and axes distance variation are detected and measured through the movement of the slides with rolling guides and read through the incremental transducer with linear movement with a stroke of minimum 6 mm. During operation, the system is protected by protective light barriers. The results of the intelligent measuring process are displayed on the panel of the industrial SIEMENS computer.

All the tests are executed within a symmetric alternating dynamic cycle (R= -1) with a frequency of

Lathes for reshaping the wheels and wheel sets of the railway vehicles are diversified and modernized in accordance with the requirements of railway transport. The paper presents some considerations on modernization of a conventional lathe with two working units by adaptation of CNC equipment for driving and measuring simultaneous both wheels on an axle. On radial sledge of each working units, on which are mounted the profiling tools, in the immediate proximity of them, are placed the measurement systems in order to determine the axial position of lateral internal faces of the wheels, the diameters of the wheels and the main geometrical parameters of the rolling profiles. The measurements are done before re-profiling to determine the wear of the profile...

The monitoring of these emissions is necessary for the optimization, control and keeping of the process in allowable limits. A method and an apparatus were developed for monitoring of the grinding process components: acoustic emission generated during cutting process by the contact abrasive wheel - part; vibrations generated in the abrasive wheel shaft by the unbalancing of the abrasive wheel; geometry of the part processed; geometry of the abrasive wheel.
