Davide Barreca
Born in 1972, Davide Barreca got his MsC degree in Chemistry (110/110 cum laude) in 1996 and his PhD at Padova University in 2000. In 2001 he became a CNR Researcher. He is a Senior Researcher since 2002, and has the Habilitation to Full Professorship - SSD 03/B1 and SSD 03/B2. Since 1999 he has been contract professor for PhD/Material School courses. He is, or has been, contract Professor for various Chemistry and PhD courses in Padova University and actually teaches General and Inorganic Chemistry for the Environmental Science and Technology degree – Padova University.
The Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) group in Padova, composed actually by 7 people, has been established in 1995 by D. Barreca and has progressively extended his activity to a broad range of multi-functional metal-oxide nanosystems, from thin films to ordered nano-arrays with controlled morphologies, for specific advanced applications in sensing, energetics and photocatalysis.
His activity on multi-functional metal-oxide nanosystems is documented by more than 270 papers, 5 patents and more than 20 invited talks/seminars. For the significant results achieved during his career, he received various awards, such as the Vincenzo Caglioti–Accademia dei Lincei Prize (2008), the Prize for Strategic Relevance/Excellence Results – CNR Researchers (2009) and the SAPIO Junior Prize (2010). He was/is local responsible of national and EU (FP7-ITN and NMP) projects and of industrial contractships, and is member of the International EUROCVD Board. He is/was tutor of MsC/PhD theses and responsible for PhD/Post-Doc formation. He is European Editor of Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Letters, and member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Nanoscience: Current Research and Advanced Chemistry Letters. He was member of Scientific/Organizing Congress Committees, such as EUROCVD17 (Austria, 2009), ICACC (USA, 2013), CIMTEC (Italy, 2014), and E-MRS symposia (Strasbourg, 2013 and Warsaw, 2016). He is evaluator for the Chemical Sciences panel - Institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and for the National Agency for the Evaluation of the Research Quality (ANVUR), and referee for many ISI international journals, book proposals and national/international research projects.
