Purpose
Due to the importance of the wheat industry in the economy, a real-featured performance
measurement approach is essential for the wheat production process. In this paper, we intend
to develop a DEA model that is fully compatible with the wheat production process so that
managers and farmers can use it to evaluate the efficiency of wheat farms for strategic
decisions.
Study design/methodology/approach
A dynamic multi-stage network DEA (DNMS-DEA) model is developed to evaluate the
efficiency of wheat production farms in short-term (2-year) and long-term (8-years) periods.
Findings
The results show that due to the lack of long-term planning and excessive reliance on rain, most
of the investigated regions have no stability in efficiency, and the efficiency of the regions
changes in a zigzag manner over time. Among studied regions, only the Hashtrood region has
high and stable efficiency, and other regions can follow the example of this region's cultivation
method.
Originality/Value
To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first time that uses the dynamic multi-stage
network DEA considering every other year cultivation method and direct-indirect inputs in the
agricultural section.

General policies are needed to guide the livestock industry in an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable manner. These policies should include sustainable development goals, considering specific spatial situations and existing risks. The initial step toward achieving sustainable development in the livestock industry involves the selection of suitable sites while considering associated risks. This study focuses on examining the ecological, economic, and social potential of Iran's Khuzestan province for livestock breeding and identifies crucial information indicators for livestock industry development. This article is one of the first articles to study industrial livestock site selection using the GIS-MCDM hybrid method with the R-numbers. This method aims to address uncertainty and prevent errors associated with fuzzy numbers. In this research, 13 suitable places for livestock development were identified. To determine the most suitable place among the candidate places, we use a hybrid decision-making framework utilizing R-number and MULTIMOORA methods. To confirm the validity of the research methods, we computed data with other methods, and all methods selected the A 1 site as the most suitable place for livestock.

In order to organise the air passengers entering Iran, in this study, the number of international air passengers entering Iran in 2020 has been forecast using an artificial neural network. For this purpose, first, countries that have a similar status to Iran on some indicators, have been recognised by using 11 indices. Afterward, the number of their air passengers has been forecast by using various training algorithms. Then, the number of international passengers entering Iran has been forecast using the weighted average and similarity percentage of other countries in defined indices. It should be noted that training algorithms for countries have been chosen based on experimental error, and the prediction accuracy has been set at 99% of confidence interval. Comparison of the results obtained from present study and other studies shows high accuracy of the proposed approach.

The main objective of sustainable supply chain is to balance the economic, environmental, and soc... more The main objective of sustainable supply chain is to balance the economic, environmental, and social goals that companies have to use closed-loop supply chains for cost reduction and increasing the efficiency of the supply chain. According to the research literature, considering the risk in supply chains, especially the return supply chain, is one of the topics that has been little studied. Therefore, the aim of this study is to locate the components of a three-objective, sustainable closed-loop, multi-commodity, and multi-period supply chain, considering uncertainty and market scenarios with a risk approach. Location in the sustainable closed-loop supply chain, considering the risk, and also paying attention to the quality of manufactured products and different scenarios of demand are among the innovations of this research. Due to the NP-Hard nature of the problem, the model is solved by the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II). Sensitivity analysis has been performed on the parameters of the problem, and the efficiency of the studied methods has been investigated. The average Pareto points obtained from the first objective function is 56789.9, the average Pareto points for the second objective function is 1828.8 and for the third objective function is 77365.32, and also the average solution time of the model is 15.9 seconds.

The contribution of the Bitcoin market continues to grow due to the special nature of Bitcoin. The investors' attention to Bitcoin has increased significantly in recent years due to significant growth in its prices. It is important to create a prediction system which works well for investment management and business strategies due to the high chaos and volatility of Bitcoin prices. In this study, in order to improve predictive accuracy, Bitcoin price dataset is first divided into a time interval through time window, then propose a new model based on long short-term memory neural networks (LSTM) and Metaheuristic Algorithms. Chaotic Dolphin Swarm Optimization Algorithm is used to optimize the LSTM. Performance evaluation indicated that the proposed model can have more effective predictions and improve prediction accuracy. In addition...

In this regard, financial institutions should take the necessary planning to increase their incomes, and if they do not pay attention, the consequences can be predicted for this group of economic activists Increasing income and reducing the risk of bankruptcy are among the most important goals for financial institutions and enterprises. Therefore, considering the increase of income and the integration approach based on the selection of partners in the field of banking, this paper presents a mathematical model based on reducing the risk of bankruptcy. The multi-objective genetic algorithm method has been used to solve and optimize the model. The proposed method was implemented on real data related to ten Iranian banks and the results led to the formation of a financial firm with a combination of banks to maximize the income and minimize the bankruptcy risk.

This paper aims to propose NBG-DEA model to measure the performance of decision-making units with complicated network structures. Design/methodology/approach As the proposed NBG-DEA model is a non-linear mathematical programming, finding its global optimum solution is hard. Therefore, meta-heuristic algorithms are used to solve non-linear optimization problems. Fortunately, the NBG-DEA model optimizes the well-formed problem, so that it can be solved by different non-linear methods including meta-heuristic algorithms. Hence, a meta-heuristic algorithm, called particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed to solve the NBG-DEA model in this paper. The case study is Industrial Management Institute (IMI), which is a leading organization in providing consulting management, publication and educational services in Iran. The sub-processes...

A hybrid model of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and data mining techniques is used to analyze the investment behavior in Tehran stock market. Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies face financial crises. That is why companies with inferior performance must be benchmarked with efficient companies. First, the financial data of investments on selective companies are analyzed using data mining approaches to recognize the behavioral patterns of investors and securities. Second, customers are clustered into 3 selling and 4 buying groups using data mining techniques. Then, the efficiency of active companies in stock exchange is evaluated using input-oriented DEA. The results indicate that, among 23 industries listed on the stock market in Iran, solely nine were efficient in 2019. Moreover, in 2020, the number of effic...

These quantities are expressed as complex numbers in which the real part is the active power and the imaginary part is the reactive power. Reactive power plays an important role in an electricity network. Ignoring it will exclude a lot of information. With regard to the importance of the generators in power plants, surely, calculating the efficiency of these units is of great importance. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a nonparametric approach to measure the relative efficiency of Decision-Making Units (DMUs). Since the generators data are complex numbers, thus, if we the use classical DEA models in order to measure the efficiency of the generators in power plants, the reactive power cannot be considered, and the measurement is limited to the real number of electric power. In this paper, a new DEA model with complex numbers is developed in order to assess the performance of the power plant generators.

In this paper a customized dynamic network data envelopment analysis (NDEA) model is proposed to measure the efficiency of the sub-processes in a real business. The proposed dynamic NDEA model is fully designed and customized for IMI which is a leading institute in providing consulting management, publication, and educational services. First, we have identified the network of the Industrial Management Institute (IMI) which includes educational, consulting, and publication sub-processes. Then, the most important subprocesses and the associated dynamic interactions are determined. Afterwards, a dynamic NDEA model is proposed to measure the efficiency of sub-processes. The main theoretical properties of proposed dynamic NDEA model are also discussed through theorems. Assessing the performan...

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a linear programming method to measure the relative efficiency... more Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a linear programming method to measure the relative efficiency of a set of decision-making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. Some DEA models are used to allocate resources and to set targets. Previous studies in resource allocation and target setting have used deterministic data; however, in real problems resources and targets are not deterministic. In this paper, a type-II fuzzy DEA approach is developed for resource allocation and target setting. A numerical example and a real case study including 11 gas refineries with two inputs and three outputs are provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed approach. The results demonstrate that the proposed method efficiently allocates resources and sets targets in presence of uncertainty. Sensitivity analysis is accomplished based on the variation of the value of targets and resources and the variation of the footprint of uncertainty (FOU) of resources and targets.

A pure serial three-stage (PSTS) process is a specific kind of network in which all the outputs of the first stage are used as the only inputs in the second stage and in addition, all the outputs of the second stage are applied as the only inputs in the third stage. In this paper, a new three-stage DEA model is developed using the concept of three-player Nash bargaining game for PSTS processes. In this model, all of the stages cooperate together to improve the overall efficiency of main decision-making unit (DMU). In contrast to the centralized DEA models, the proposed model of this study provides a unique and fair decomposition of the overall efficiency among all three stages and eliminates probable confusion of centralized models for decomposing the overall efficiency score. Some theoretical asp...

Some projects are often performed by many subcontractors that cooperate with each other and some ... more Some projects are often performed by many subcontractors that cooperate with each other and some of them are conducted by outsourcing them to several firms; so subcontractors carry out activities in competition. Appropriate trade-off between time and cost and achieving more benefit and cost saving are objectives of both models. In this paper, it is investigated that how different subcontractors of a project can cooperate to achieve more advantages if possible and how subcontractors can compete to make the results better and find the optimum cost to minimize the time for each of them. The competition here does not mean eliminating a competitor, but the aim is to challenge the contractors in order to choose the best decision. The purpose of this study is to address the challenges in time and cost management and to find more profit allocation among subcontractors and fair competition for fair allocation as well. A model based on cooperative game theory in time/cost trade-off problem of projects is suggested and then a competition model among subcontractors based on non-cooperative game theory is proposed. A case study is represented to comprehensively illustrate the problem, the cooperative techniques of cooperative game theory, and the payoff matrix of non-cooperative model among subcontractors. Results of the proposed model reveal that subcontractors can obtain higher profit from cooperation if possible. When they outsource the project and compete with each other, they must consider the interaction activities and choose the best strategies for cost saving and gain more reward from the client. Moreover, it is found that some techniques such as Shapley value, Core, Max-Min Core, or Equal Profit Method (EPM) are able to fairly assign extra profit of cooperation, and using the payoff matrix, Nash equilibrium, and Nash bargaining helps to find the optimum point to minimize time and cost for interaction activities state.

In this paper the relationship between the experience of online customers, perceived value, satisfaction, and the loyalty is investigated. The main hypotheses of this study are analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) methodology. The study is conducted in the biggest electronic-store in Iran. The structural model, is developed on the basis of four main hypotheses as follows: H1) Customer purchasing experience has impact on perceived value; H2) Perceived value of customers has impact on satisfaction; H3) Customer satisfaction has an impact on loyalty; H4) Customer purchasing experience has an impact on loyalty. The reliability of questions is checked using opinion of a group of experts who have at least 15 years of related experiences. The hypotheses are tested using data extracted from 396 questionnaires through AMOS software. Results show that customer's experience i...

This model is a generalized form of the ( S, d) policy, which has already been shown to be the best modified base-stock policy (MBSP) for Poisson demand and fixed lead times. In this paper, customers’ inter-arrival times, demand sizes, and lead times are extended in a probabilistic situation with free distributions. Then, a hybrid simulation–optimization approach is developed to handle these generalized conditions. This approach uses design of experiments, a simulation model, and regression analysis to obtain the long-run cost function of the system under this extended MBSP. The optimal settings of this policy are achieved using a mathematical optimization model. Employing a simulation model, a cost function, and mathematical models makes this approach applicable for finding the optimal settings even in the presence of realistic restrictions and unce...

This paper suggests a new approach for consensus of expert opinions in multi-attribute group deci... more This paper suggests a new approach for consensus of expert opinions in multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems. In the proposed approach, different opinions of a group of experts with unequal importance are aggregated using a fuzzy average based on Buckley’s hypothesis test. In this way an MAGDM problem is converted to a simple fuzzy MADM problem which can be solved using existing method. The proposed method can handle the complicated real MAGDM problems efficiently. It uses both mean and deviation of opinion of a group of decision makers. The proposed method can be used in both group comparison matrix and group decision making problem. Illustrative examples are solved to show the efficacy of the proposed method in both cases. The results of proposed approach are compared with the result of two existing methods in literature. Results demonstrate the applicability and efficacy of proposed approach.
