Acid mine drainage contains dissolved heavy metals that are harmful to the ecosystem. Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) can be used in acid mine drainage bioremediation. This study aims to analyze pH, C-organic and BPS growing in acid water sediments of coal mines and several other ecosystems, analyze C/N ratio and pH of potential organic substrates, and recover AMD by enrichment of indigenous SRB and addition of organic substrates. The ecosystems observed were AMD sediment, paddy field mud, mangrove sediment, in situ sediment, ditch sediment, and rhizosphere soil. Bioremediation is defined as biological degradation process of organic or inorganic wastes in a c... more Bioremediation is defined as biological degradation process of organic or inorganic wastes in a controlled condition to control and reduce their amount in the environment. In this study, the soil which had been poluted by heavy petroleum oil fractions, i.e. heavy oil waste (HOW), was used as sample. The bioremediation technique used in this study is an exsitu technique. This study was conducted to determine the amount of produced CO 2 gas during the HOW degaradation process. Treatment of heavy oil waste with biostimulation and bioaugmentation. Production of CO 2 gas were placed in impiger and analysis with titrimetry method. The highest CO 2 production mean was obtained from the bioaugmentation treatment with compost adding, i.e. 244,5 mg/m 3. Generally, graphs CO 2 gas production followed a similar sinusoidal pattern. From these results it can be infered that the degradation process of HOW happened during the treatments in aerobic condition.

Oil Spill Dispersant Formulation from Diethanolamine (DEA) and Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) for Bioremediation Process

The palm oil industry was developed to produce oleochemical products and derivates, such as surfa... more The palm oil industry was developed to produce oleochemical products and derivates, such as surfactant, namely diethanolamide (DEA) and methyl ester sulfonate (MES). The objective of this study is to produce a water based dispersant type from two kinds of surfactants, DEA and MES, then apply it to enhance bioemediation process. Both surfactants were diluted in water to prepare solution of DEA and MES, respectively, then it were determined the critical micelle concentration. The selected solutions were mixed at ratio of DEA and MES solution (9:1 to 1: 9) to obtain the stable emulsion as an oil spill dispersant (OSD). The best characterized OSD formula was tested to enhance bioremediation process for crude oil contaminated soil. The formulation result shows that solution of DEA 1.5% and MES 0.9% are selected at the mixed ratio of 7:3. This OSD product was characterized to density, surface tension, interfacial tension, pH , viscosity and droplet size. The OSD was demonstrated in a microcosm test of crude oil contaminated soil at ratio of crude oil : OSD by (1:1). This result shows that the OSD can enhance the bioremediation process compare to control without OSD.

An Adaptive Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Model for Sustainability Assessment of Sugarcane Agroindustry Supply Chain

The assessment of agro-industrial supply chain performance is a complex and dynamic process. Hence, there is a need for an adaptive fuzzy multi-criteria sustainability assessment model as an alternative method of analysis and improvement. This study aimed to design an adaptive fuzzy multi-criteria sustainability assessment and improvement model for the sugarcane agroindustry supply chain. In this study: (1) a fuzzy inference system (FIS) was developed to assess the performance of the sustainability dimensions. This study proposed 24 indicators for four dimensions: economic, social, environmental, and resource. (2) An adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is designed to aggregate the overall supply chain sustainability performance. (3) The proposed fuzzy multi-criteria assessment model was compared with the common multidimensional scaling (MDS) and linear models. This study proved that the proposed synthesis of the FIS and ANFIS models is powerful and adaptive for evaluating supply chain sustainability and providing accurate results. (4) The strategies to improve sustainability performance were developed using the cosine amplitude method (CAM). The proposed model determined that the overall supply chain sustainability value was 68.58%, which was almost sustainable. Several strategies have been suggested to improve sustainability performance, including maintaining the sugarcane supply by strengthening the partnership program and improving the mill's overall recovery, followed by factory revitalization or new factory investment. The AC cleaning process cannot separate from the use of cleaning fluid as one of the main ingredients. This study aimed to obtain the most efficient formulation of AC cleaner fluid from Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) with Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) in improving performance and seeing the effect of sonication on the effectiveness of detergent in resulting the AC cleaner. The AC cleaner formulation used the two factors Completely Randomized Design method, namely MES deposition (10%, 20%, 30%) and HF concentration (1%, 2%, 3%). The combination stage was based on parameters of density, viscosity, surface testing, wetting, and pH. From these testers, the three best treatments were M10H3 (MES 10% + HF 3%), M20H3 (MES 20% + HF 3%), M30H3 (MES 30% + HF 3%). Three samples were tested for detergency so that the best treatment was M30H3 (MES 30% + HF 3%). Sonication treatment was able to improve the properties of the resulting AC cleaner, with the density value of 1.0193 g/cm 3 to 1,0001 g/cm 3 , surface tension from 23.676 dyne/cm to 20.765 dyne/cm, contact angle from 32.37 o to 20.5 o , pH from 2.44 to 2.9, and particle size from 10.85 μm to 158.27 nm. The post-state sample had a higher detergency power than before sonication that can increase cleaning ability by as much as 70%. However, the resulting formulation did not have a higher detergency level than commercial AC cleaner brand X.

The primary processing of coffee produces waste from pulping and hulling activities. Waste can be processed further through composting, anaerobic water waste treatment and burning to be converted into electrical energy. Therefore, the calculation is needed that estimates the amount of potential biomass that is converted. Then, the purpose of the paper is to analyze each stage in the life cycle of Gayo Arabica coffee and calculate the potential amount of electrical energy produced. The life cycle assessment method uses material and energy analysis intending to explain the flow of inputs and outputs within the system boundary and analyze the movement and transformation of materials, energy, waste, and emissions. In the context of the paper, the study uses material flow analysis to estimate the biomass potential from solid and water waste treatment. The study uses interviews, observations and a cooperative report located in Central Aceh district as an Arabica coffee producer area in Indonesia. Production of Arabica coffee is managed by cooperatives involving small farmers and collectors from cultivation, primary processing, packaging, and delivery. Cultivation uses the agroforestry system with a shade tree of the type of lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala). Packing with a pack of burlap is done by the cooperative. Activities undertaken cooperatives include the acceptance of coffee beans from the collector. Since 2016 cooperatives implemented a policy of processing coffee beans at the collector level. The estimation of the study shows that waste treatment through anaerobic water waste treatment, composting and combustion from 1 ton of cherry coffee (primary processing) has an energy potential of 34 kwh.

Pollutants dispersion in air influenced by meteorological condition, such as wind speed, wind direction, air temperarture, air turbulence and atmospheric stability. Air quality monitoring is important in controling the worst condition of pollutants concentration. Air quality monitoring is not easy to do, because it is time consuming, costly and need technology, so that air quality model is developed as an alternative air quality monitoring. This research used gaussian model, a model for predicting pollutant concentrations in downwind area. This model is applied in cement industry, focusing on major pollutants of the cement industry. Sources of pollutants consist of dust, SO2 and NOx. The modeling results showed maximum ground level concentration of dust, SO2 and NOx occur at night (7-10 PM). The maximum ground level concentration of dust, SO2 and NOx at night respectively were 13.16 μg / Nm 3 , 32.69 μg / Nm 3 , 100.21 μg / Nm 3 (N1 stack) and 14.65 μg / Nm 3 , 36.65 μg / Nm 3 , 128.10 μg / Nm 3 (N2 stack) based from downwind scenarios at night when atmospheric condition was stable. The distance where the maximum ground level concentration occured has a strong correlation with wind speed (-0.82 ≤ r ≤-1). Based on gaussian model output, air quality monitoring should be executed at night time (stable atmospheric condition) and located at ground level where maximum concentration occured. Increasing 50m of stack can decrease 57% pollutant concentrations in stable condition.

Supply Chain Fair Profit Allocation Based on Risk and Value Added for Sugarcane Agro-industry

In agro-industry supply chain, establishing a fair and reasonable profit allocation has been more challenging due to the influence of uncertain factors. Cooperative game theory with the Shapley value has an opportunity to solve this problem given its appropriateness for the key goals of the supply chain. Fuzzy Shapley value was developed to accommodate uncertain stakeholders' payoff. In addition, uncertain risk and value added were considered for a reasonable profit allocation. This model succeeded in a case study of finding a fair profit allocation in the sugarcane agro-industry supply chain taking into account uncertain risk and value added. The model validation showed that sugarcane farmers, mills, and distributors achieved 35.38%, 30.11%, and 34.51% of profit share, respectively. Stakeholders achieved their profit share based on their marginal contribution, risk potential, and valueadded contribution, which may increase supply chain stability.

One of the most application of LCA is LCA in fishery product. This research was conducted in processing of fisheriesproduct industry in Cirebon Jawa Barat. The methodology of LCA based on life cycle assessment framework ISO 14040 which consist of four stages such as goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, impact assessment, and interpretation and improvement analysis. The scope of this LCA research is production process in industry. By calculating using IPCC, industry of fisheries product processing in this study emitted GHG as much as 0,56 g for fish product and GHG as much as 1,62 g for crab product. The alternatives for reducing environmental impacts are changing the refrigerant used, which can reduce the GHG emissions as much as 68.37% and adjusting the water usage, which can reduce the GHG emissions as much as 6,09%.

Nowadays, a product derived from castor has able to replace petroleum-based chemical feedstock. In spite of its renewable characteristic, castor oil production has to meet the environmental sustainability. This study was conducted to determine numbers of input and output used, as well as, their impact to the environment in the production processes. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method was used to determine the input, output and environmental impacts of castor oil production. The result is, that the needs for a ton of castor oil are: 0.97 ha of land, 1.06 kg of seeds for plantation, 0.27 tons of fertilizer, 7.7 liters of petrol, 219.71 liters of diesel, 2.43 tons of seeds for processing purpose, and 1 187.54 liters of water. The production process itself emits 1.03 tons CO2-eq of greenhouse gas (GHG). Reduction to environmental pressure could be accomplished by replacing fossil fuel with castor cake during production to reduce 153.19 liters of diesel usage equals with 0.43 tons CO 2-eq emission for a ton castor oil.

The use of oil in Indonesia is dominated to meet the needs of transportation vehicles. Fuel oil as a source of energy goes into the spotlight in the world lately because of the impact of environmental degradation that arise from the utilization. The industrial activity of fuel oil production in refineries is inseparable from the environmental impacts. The oil process at the refinery is the second highest emission contributor after the use of fuel oil itself during its product life cycle. In this research LCA analysis is conducted for the production of gasoline and gasoil vehicle fuels during processing at the refinery with hydroskimminghydrocracking complex configuration to compare the environmental impact of each type of fuel. From the result of LCA analysis, it is known that producing 1 kilo litter of gasoline needed more energy and produce higher emission compared to the gasoil fuel type production in hydroskimminghydrocracking complex refinery. The gasoline fuel produced in the platformer unit is the product that has the highest emission contribution in its production process with greenhouse gas emissions of 1 Ton CO-2eq and the acid gas emissions of 0.001 Ton SO-2eq per 1 kilo litter of the product.

Sifat tersebut dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengaktifkannya melalui penambahan asam, tetapi asam apapun yang dipilih memiliki potensi untuk mencemari lingkungan. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengelolaan air limbah bentonit dengan 98% H 2 SO 4 sebagai aktivator. Karena produksi yang besar, berkelanjutan dan metode trial and error dalam mencari solusi akan membutuhkan waktu yang lama, diusulkan pemodelan sistem dinamik. Pemodelan menggunakan software Powersim Studio 7 mengacu pada data konsentrasi H + dan jumlah bahan penetral. Model simulasi menghasilkan ilustrasi bahwa pengolahan air limbah yang efektif dan efisien adalah mengganti metode pengenceran air limbah menjadi 126 m 3 / 3 ton bentonit dan penambahan campuran NaOH-kapur yang diatur secara bertahap. Netralisasi optimum didapatkan pada penambahan 961,9 kg NaOH untuk meningkatkan pH air limbah hingga pH 3 kemudian diikuti dengan penambahan 40,31 kg kapur hingga pH 6,5 sehingga perubahan pH dan waktu pengerjaan tetap terkontrol. Biaya total pengolahan optimum membutuhkan biaya total Rp 44.100.716/3 ton bentonit yang diproses.

The untreated produced water discharges may be harmful to the surrounding environment, so is necessary to have produced water management that tend to have reduce a risk for the enviroment and human. Cleaner Production (CP) is a continuous application of an integrated, preventive, environmental management strategy to increase overall efficiency and to reduce risks to humans and environment. the aims of this research are (1) identify cleaner production opportunities from produced water management which can be implemented in company (2) solved a problem from existing produced water management. Research can be done by primary and secondary data collecting direct field observation, and laboratory analyze of produced water. Analysis were done by using Quick Scan that consisted in two phase, preparation and implementation, evaluation of Cleaner Production opportunities and evaluation of environmental and economic assessment. The result showed that Produced water is the largest volume waste from oil and gas production with a total value worth 3.939.370 barel for 2012 and also water injection is the most effectif and effcien technology to manage produced water than those other surface discharge methods for company. Replacement of produced water pipes from type B to type A is the application of Cleaner Production opportunities in companies that benefit from the economic and environmental.

Life Cycle Assessment of Gayo Arabica Coffee Green Bean at Aceh Province

Hence, the evaluating environmental performance of the coffee agroindustry is essential if it is to become a more sustainable agroindustry. This paper aims to assess environmental performance (energy footprint, water footprint, and carbon footprint) in Gayo Arabica coffee green bean production with different agro-industry models. The method to evaluate environmental performance that can be used to identify indications of sustainability is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Method. The study was conducted on coffee production and exporter cooperatives in Central Aceh. Primary data were obtained through interviews with farmers, collectors, huller owners, and cooperative administrators. Secondary data comes from cooperative reports. The LCA study is described in two product systems, the model of 2015 and the model of 2016. The LCA model of 2015 is based on the green bean production system carried out in 2015 which includes water treatment, pulping, collecting, drying, hulling, finishing, and transportation. The LCA model of 2016 is based on the green bean production system carried out in 2016 until now which includes sub-processes for water treatment, pulping, collecting 1, hulling, collecting 2, finishing, and transportation. The results show that the energy footprint of the 2016 model (2.5128 MJ per f.u) is greater than that of the 2015 model (1.2336 MJ per f.u), the water footprint of the 2015 model is the same as the water footprint of the 2016 model product system, namely 0. 0086 m 3 per f.u., and the carbon footprint of the 2016 model (1.93 kg CO2-eq per f.u) is greater than that of the 2015 model (1.48 kg CO2-eq per f.u). The cooperative initiative (in the model of 2016) is for the purpose of process improvement but cannot reduce carbon emissions. To reduce emissions from the use of fossil fuels, it is necessary to optimize land transportation routes and energy efficiency.

The life cycle analysis (LCA) method are based on the scope of the gate to gate. This study shows that the input for coconut oil production consists of copra as the main raw material and several supporting materials and energy. The outputs are coconut oil, coconut pulp pellets, and waste (liquid, solid, and gas). The total potential GHG emissions, acidification, and eutrophication per-kg-coconut-oil-products are 2.9271 kg-CO2 eq, 0.0178 kg-SO2-eq, and 0.0145 kg-PO4-3-eq. The highest GHG emissions produced from the Crude Coconut Oil Plant sub-system was 1.2045 kg-CO2eq per-kg-coconut-oil. Supply chains were modeled through a Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) and Fuzzy-Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate the performance. This paper modeled fuzzy-House of Risk (HOR) to identify and assess supply chain risk. Expert judgment for supply chain risk assessment was aggregated using an Ordered Weighted Average (OWA) model. The supply chain performance of farmers was found to be average, while that of sugar mill was at below average. Our model succeeded in identifying and assessing 15 risk agents for farmer, seven risk agents for sugar mills, and four risk agents for distributors which had to be mitigated. This work offers meaningful guidance for decision-makers to compose strategies to mitigate risk and enhance performance of sugarcane agroindustry supply chains.

In this study, the soil which had been poluted by heavy petroleum oil fractions, i.e. heavy oil waste (HOW), was used as sample. The bioremediation technique used in this study is an exsitu technique. This study was conducted to determine the amount of produced CO 2 gas during the HOW degaradation process. Treatment of heavy oil waste with biostimulation and bioaugmentation. Production of CO 2 gas were placed in impiger and analysis with titrimetry method. The highest CO 2 production mean was obtained from the bioaugmentation treatment with compost adding, i.e. 244,5 mg/m 3. Generally, graphs CO 2 gas production followed a similar sinusoidal pattern. From these results it can be infered that the degradation process of HOW happened during the treatments in aerobic condition.

The objective of this study is to produce a water based dispersant type from two kinds of surfactants, DEA and MES, then apply it to enhance bioemediation process. Both surfactants were diluted in water to prepare solution of DEA and MES, respectively, then it were determined the critical micelle concentration. The selected solutions were mixed at ratio of DEA and MES solution (9:1 to 1: 9) to obtain the stable emulsion as an oil spill dispersant (OSD). The best characterized OSD formula was tested to enhance bioremediation process for crude oil contaminated soil. The formulation result shows that solution of DEA 1.5% and MES 0.9% are selected at the mixed ratio of 7:3. This OSD product was characterized to density, surface tension, interfacial tension, pH , viscosity and droplet size. The OSD was demonstrated in a microcosm test of crude oil contaminated soil at ratio of crude oil : OSD by (1:1). This result shows that the OSD can enhance the bioremediation process compare to control without OSD.

The assessment of agro-industrial supply chain performance is a complex and dynamic process. Hence, there is a need for an adaptive fuzzy multi-criteria sustainability assessment model as an alternative method of analysis and improvement. This study aimed to design an adaptive fuzzy multi-criteria sustainability assessment and improvement model for the sugarcane agroindustry supply chain. In this study: (1) a fuzzy inference system (FIS) was developed to assess the performance of the sustainability dimensions. This study proposed 24 indicators for four dimensions: economic, social, environmental, and resource. (2) An adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is designed to aggregate the overall supply chain sustainability performance. (3) The proposed fuzzy multi-criteria assessment model was compared with the common multidimensional scaling (MDS) and linear models. This study proved that the proposed synthesis of the FIS and ANFIS models is powerful and adaptive for evaluating supply chain sustainability and providing accurate results. (4) The strategies to improve sustainability performance were developed using the cosine amplitude method (CAM). The proposed model determined that the overall supply chain sustainability value was 68.58%, which was almost sustainable. Several strategies have been suggested to improve sustainability performance, including maintaining the sugarcane supply by strengthening the partnership program and improving the mill's overall recovery, followed by factory revitalization or new factory investment. The AC cleaning process cannot separate from the use of cleaning fluid as one of the main ingredients. This study aimed to obtain the most efficient formulation of AC cleaner fluid from Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) with Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) in improving performance and seeing the effect of sonication on the effectiveness of detergent in resulting the AC cleaner. The AC cleaner formulation used the two factors Completely Randomized Design method, namely MES deposition (10%, 20%, 30%) and HF concentration (1%, 2%, 3%). The combination stage was based on parameters of density, viscosity, surface testing, wetting, and pH. From these testers, the three best treatments were M10H3 (MES 10% + HF 3%), M20H3 (MES 20% + HF 3%), M30H3 (MES 30% + HF 3%). Three samples were tested for detergency so that the best treatment was M30H3 (MES 30% + HF 3%). Sonication treatment was able to improve the properties of the resulting AC cleaner, with the density value of 1.0193 g/cm 3 to 1,0001 g/cm 3 , surface tension from 23.676 dyne/cm to 20.765 dyne/cm, contact angle from 32.37 o to 20.5 o , pH from 2.44 to 2.9, and particle size from 10.85 μm to 158.27 nm. The post-state sample had a higher detergency power than before sonication that can increase cleaning ability by as much as 70%. However, the resulting formulation did not have a higher detergency level than commercial AC cleaner brand X.

The primary processing of coffee produces waste from pulping and hulling activities. Waste can be processed further through composting, anaerobic water waste treatment and burning to be converted into electrical energy. Therefore, the calculation is needed that estimates the amount of potential biomass that is converted. Then, the purpose of the paper is to analyze each stage in the life cycle of Gayo Arabica coffee and calculate the potential amount of electrical energy produced. The life cycle assessment method uses material and energy analysis intending to explain the flow of inputs and outputs within the system boundary and analyze the movement and transformation of materials, energy, waste, and emissions. In the context of the paper, the study uses material flow analysis to estimate the biomass potential from solid and water waste treatment. The study uses interviews, observations and a cooperative report located in Central Aceh district as an Arabica coffee producer area in Indonesia. Production of Arabica coffee is managed by cooperatives involving small farmers and collectors from cultivation, primary processing, packaging, and delivery. Cultivation uses the agroforestry system with a shade tree of the type of lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala). Packing with a pack of burlap is done by the cooperative. Activities undertaken cooperatives include the acceptance of coffee beans from the collector. Since 2016 cooperatives implemented a policy of processing coffee beans at the collector level. The estimation of the study shows that waste treatment through anaerobic water waste treatment, composting and combustion from 1 ton of cherry coffee (primary processing) has an energy potential of 34 kwh.

Pollutants dispersion in air influenced by meteorological condition, such as wind speed, wind direction, air temperarture, air turbulence and atmospheric stability. Air quality monitoring is important in controling the worst condition of pollutants concentration. Air quality monitoring is not easy to do, because it is time consuming, costly and need technology, so that air quality model is developed as an alternative air quality monitoring. This research used gaussian model, a model for predicting pollutant concentrations in downwind area. This model is applied in cement industry, focusing on major pollutants of the cement industry. Sources of pollutants consist of dust, SO2 and NOx. The modeling results showed maximum ground level concentration of dust, SO2 and NOx occur at night (7-10 PM). The maximum ground level concentration of dust, SO2 and NOx at night respectively were 13.16 μg / Nm 3 , 32.69 μg / Nm 3 , 100.21 μg / Nm 3 (N1 stack) and 14.65 μg / Nm 3 , 36.65 μg / Nm 3 , 128.10 μg / Nm 3 (N2 stack) based from downwind scenarios at night when atmospheric condition was stable. The distance where the maximum ground level concentration occured has a strong correlation with wind speed (-0.82 ≤ r ≤-1). Based on gaussian model output, air quality monitoring should be executed at night time (stable atmospheric condition) and located at ground level where maximum concentration occured. Increasing 50m of stack can decrease 57% pollutant concentrations in stable condition.

In agro-industry supply chain, establishing a fair and reasonable profit allocation has been more challenging due to the influence of uncertain factors. Cooperative game theory with the Shapley value has an opportunity to solve this problem given its appropriateness for the key goals of the supply chain. Fuzzy Shapley value was developed to accommodate uncertain stakeholders' payoff. In addition, uncertain risk and value added were considered for a reasonable profit allocation. This model succeeded in a case study of finding a fair profit allocation in the sugarcane agro-industry supply chain taking into account uncertain risk and value added. The model validation showed that sugarcane farmers, mills, and distributors achieved 35.38%, 30.11%, and 34.51% of profit share, respectively. Stakeholders achieved their profit share based on their marginal contribution, risk potential, and valueadded contribution, which may increase supply chain stability.

One of the most application of LCA is LCA in fishery product. This research was conducted in processing of fisheriesproduct industry in Cirebon Jawa Barat. The methodology of LCA based on life cycle assessment framework ISO 14040 which consist of four stages such as goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, impact assessment, and interpretation and improvement analysis. The scope of this LCA research is production process in industry. By calculating using IPCC, industry of fisheries product processing in this study emitted GHG as much as 0,56 g for fish product and GHG as much as 1,62 g for crab product. The alternatives for reducing environmental impacts are changing the refrigerant used, which can reduce the GHG emissions as much as 68.37% and adjusting the water usage, which can reduce the GHG emissions as much as 6,09%.

Nowadays, a product derived from castor has able to replace petroleum-based chemical feedstock. In spite of its renewable characteristic, castor oil production has to meet the environmental sustainability. This study was conducted to determine numbers of input and output used, as well as, their impact to the environment in the production processes. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method was used to determine the input, output and environmental impacts of castor oil production. The result is, that the needs for a ton of castor oil are: 0.97 ha of land, 1.06 kg of seeds for plantation, 0.27 tons of fertilizer, 7.7 liters of petrol, 219.71 liters of diesel, 2.43 tons of seeds for processing purpose, and 1 187.54 liters of water. The production process itself emits 1.03 tons CO2-eq of greenhouse gas (GHG). Reduction to environmental pressure could be accomplished by replacing fossil fuel with castor cake during production to reduce 153.19 liters of diesel usage equals with 0.43 tons CO 2-eq emission for a ton castor oil.

The use of oil in Indonesia is dominated to meet the needs of transportation vehicles. Fuel oil as a source of energy goes into the spotlight in the world lately because of the impact of environmental degradation that arise from the utilization. The industrial activity of fuel oil production in refineries is inseparable from the environmental impacts. The oil process at the refinery is the second highest emission contributor after the use of fuel oil itself during its product life cycle. In this research LCA analysis is conducted for the production of gasoline and gasoil vehicle fuels during processing at the refinery with hydroskimminghydrocracking complex configuration to compare the environmental impact of each type of fuel. From the result of LCA analysis, it is known that producing 1 kilo litter of gasoline needed more energy and produce higher emission compared to the gasoil fuel type production in hydroskimminghydrocracking complex refinery. The gasoline fuel produced in the platformer unit is the product that has the highest emission contribution in its production process with greenhouse gas emissions of 1 Ton CO-2eq and the acid gas emissions of 0.001 Ton SO-2eq per 1 kilo litter of the product.

Sifat tersebut dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengaktifkannya melalui penambahan asam, tetapi asam apapun yang dipilih memiliki potensi untuk mencemari lingkungan. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengelolaan air limbah bentonit dengan 98% H 2 SO 4 sebagai aktivator. Karena produksi yang besar, berkelanjutan dan metode trial and error dalam mencari solusi akan membutuhkan waktu yang lama, diusulkan pemodelan sistem dinamik. Pemodelan menggunakan software Powersim Studio 7 mengacu pada data konsentrasi H + dan jumlah bahan penetral. Model simulasi menghasilkan ilustrasi bahwa pengolahan air limbah yang efektif dan efisien adalah mengganti metode pengenceran air limbah menjadi 126 m 3 / 3 ton bentonit dan penambahan campuran NaOH-kapur yang diatur secara bertahap. Netralisasi optimum didapatkan pada penambahan 961,9 kg NaOH untuk meningkatkan pH air limbah hingga pH 3 kemudian diikuti dengan penambahan 40,31 kg kapur hingga pH 6,5 sehingga perubahan pH dan waktu pengerjaan tetap terkontrol. Biaya total pengolahan optimum membutuhkan biaya total Rp 44.100.716/3 ton bentonit yang diproses.

Cleaner Production (CP) is a continuous application of an integrated, preventive, environmental management strategy to increase overall efficiency and to reduce risks to humans and environment. the aims of this research are (1) identify cleaner production opportunities from produced water management which can be implemented in company (2) solved a problem from existing produced water management. Research can be done by primary and secondary data collecting direct field observation, and laboratory analyze of produced water. Analysis were done by using Quick Scan that consisted in two phase, preparation and implementation, evaluation of Cleaner Production opportunities and evaluation of environmental and economic assessment. The result showed that Produced water is the largest volume waste from oil and gas production with a total value worth 3.939.370 barel for 2012 and also water injection is the most effectif and effcien technology to manage produced water than those other surface discharge methods for company. Replacement of produced water pipes from type B to type A is the application of Cleaner Production opportunities in companies that benefit from the economic and environmental.

Hence, the evaluating environmental performance of the coffee agroindustry is essential if it is to become a more sustainable agroindustry. This paper aims to assess environmental performance (energy footprint, water footprint, and carbon footprint) in Gayo Arabica coffee green bean production with different agro-industry models. The method to evaluate environmental performance that can be used to identify indications of sustainability is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Method. The study was conducted on coffee production and exporter cooperatives in Central Aceh. Primary data were obtained through interviews with farmers, collectors, huller owners, and cooperative administrators. Secondary data comes from cooperative reports. The LCA study is described in two product systems, the model of 2015 and the model of 2016. The LCA model of 2015 is based on the green bean production system carried out in 2015 which includes water treatment, pulping, collecting, drying, hulling, finishing, and transportation. The LCA model of 2016 is based on the green bean production system carried out in 2016 until now which includes sub-processes for water treatment, pulping, collecting 1, hulling, collecting 2, finishing, and transportation. The results show that the energy footprint of the 2016 model (2.5128 MJ per f.u) is greater than that of the 2015 model (1.2336 MJ per f.u), the water footprint of the 2015 model is the same as the water footprint of the 2016 model product system, namely 0. 0086 m 3 per f.u., and the carbon footprint of the 2016 model (1.93 kg CO2-eq per f.u) is greater than that of the 2015 model (1.48 kg CO2-eq per f.u). The cooperative initiative (in the model of 2016) is for the purpose of process improvement but cannot reduce carbon emissions. To reduce emissions from the use of fossil fuels, it is necessary to optimize land transportation routes and energy efficiency.

The life cycle analysis (LCA) method are based on the scope of the gate to gate. This study shows that the input for coconut oil production consists of copra as the main raw material and several supporting materials and energy. The outputs are coconut oil, coconut pulp pellets, and waste (liquid, solid, and gas). The total potential GHG emissions, acidification, and eutrophication per-kg-coconut-oil-products are 2.9271 kg-CO2 eq, 0.0178 kg-SO2-eq, and 0.0145 kg-PO4-3-eq. The highest GHG emissions produced from the Crude Coconut Oil Plant sub-system was 1.2045 kg-CO2eq per-kg-coconut-oil. The purposes of this paper are to evaluate sugarcane supply chain performance, identify supply ch... more The purposes of this paper are to evaluate sugarcane supply chain performance, identify supply chain risks, and define mitigation to improve the performance. Supply chains were modeled through a Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) and Fuzzy-Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate the performance. This paper modeled fuzzy-House of Risk (HOR) to identify and assess supply chain risk. Expert judgment for supply chain risk assessment was aggregated using an Ordered Weighted Average (OWA) model. The supply chain performance of farmers was found to be average, while that of sugar mill was at below average. Our model succeeded in identifying and assessing 15 risk agents for farmer, seven risk agents for sugar mills, and four risk agents for distributors which had to be mitigated. This work offers meaningful guidance for decision-makers to compose strategies to mitigate risk and enhance performance of sugarcane agroindustry supply chains.
