I was born in Zonguldak-Amasra. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Mining Engineering, and my doctorate from Ankara University, Department of Political Sciences and Public Administration. I am also a graduate of Anadolu University, Department of History.
Between 1985 and 2023, I worked in Turkish Coal Enterprises and served as Planning Manager and Strategic Planning Coordinator.
During my professional life, I took part in the preparation and execution of many engineering projects. Between 2016-2023, I served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific Mining Journal. I am currently a columnist for a news site on energy and mining industries.
I am a member of Chamber of Mining Engineers, World Mining Congress Turkish National Committee, World Energy Council Turkish National Committee and METU Alumni Association.

The claim was based on an interview with former Turkish diplomat Sinan Ülgen published in the German newspaper Bild. According to the article titled “Erdoğan's BRICS dream shattered,” India had voted against Türkiye, and since decisions in BRICS are taken unanimously, Türkiye's membership bid had failed.
However, Iraq is one of the world’s most oil-dependent economies. Over the past decade, oil revenues have accounted for almost all of its exports, 85 percent of its state budget, and nearly half of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Despite all of its oil wealth, Iraq struggles to create jobs for its 40 million population, nearly 60 percent of which are under the age of twenty-five.
However, we are not witnessing a voice from China that is proportionate to its size. Some mediation and that's all.
In fact, China is at the forefront of the countries that should be most concerned with the region.
