Th... more Computational Thinking (CT) has been increasingly embraced as a reformation in STEM education. This paper discusses why the implementation of CT would have a considerable effect on STEM education. The first objective of this systematic literature review is to identify the subjects that incorporate the most elements of CT in STEM education. Secondly, it aims to provide an overview of CT practices in the classrooms. Finally, the major findings of this study seek to discuss the benefits and challenges of the use of CT in STEM education. Fifteen articles were methodically selected from Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, and Google Scholar databases as the relevant studies to be discussed in this systematic study, based on the PRISMA Statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) review technique. However, there is no study about mathematics anxiety and achievement in Malaysian foundation centers. This research studied the impact of Lesson Study (LS) on mathematics anxiety and achievement of students in a Malaysian university. A total of eight lecturers were involved in planning the LS which was experimented on 44 students as experimental group, while 42 others were in the control group. In the experimental group, students solved problems individually and in teams in a student-centered approach. For the control group, students were taught using the conventional method. Mathematics anxiety was measured using the Mathematics Anxiety Scale-Revised (MAS-R). A mathematics test was used to measure the students’ ability in problem solving. This working paper aims to shed light on the results of the study on science teachers who apply practical work as one of approches in encouraging thinking skills. The focus of the study is on the management of equipment during practical classes conducted. A total of five science teachers were selected through purposive sampling from the Central Zone. In this study, 49 low achieving mathematics students aged 14 years were selected from a secondary school in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia. A pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design with two groups was employed in this action research study. The experimental group learned solid geometry and statistics topics, with the aid of a scientific calculator; while the control group did not use any technological aid to learn these topics. By controlling the pre-test score, the ANCOVA two-way test was applied to the post-test results. A positive significant difference was reported in favour of the experimental group. However, no significant interactions were noted between group and gender. Type I: same numerators; Type II: same denominators; Type III: different numerators and different compatible denominators; Type IV: different numerators and different incompatible denominators. The researchers used library search and survey methodology through document search and questionnaire methods. The respondents of this study were 100 fourteen-year old students in two secondary schools from two districts. The results revealed that (i) students could easily order Type I and Type II proper fractions; (ii) students had less difficulty ordering Type II proper fractions compared with Type I proper fractions; (iii) students had difficulty ordering Type III and Type IV proper fractions; and (iv) when presented with tasks on ordering of Type III and Type IV proper fractions, students had most difficulty when ordering Type IV fractions.
