Cultivation of low cost and disease-free crops as well as planting materials such as potatoes and bananas cannot be used for a long term, so through cryopreservation, the conservation of genetic resources is possible. Plant biotechnology has not only increased the scale of attributes that can be addressed but also accelerated the vegetable growing program. Using a biotechnology approach, traditional breeding thresholds such as relationship drag issue, wide cross sexual barrier, nutritional avoidance factor, etc. can be effectively and efficiently overcome. Study objects and methods: A basic and thorough overview of the literature surveyed to identify the application of biotechnology in the yield of vegetables was conducted till 2021. Results and discussion: Recent advances in the field of molecular biology such as genetic engineering (Cisgenesis, transgenic and intragenesis), DNA sequencing, cloning, molecular markers, in-vitro mutagenesis, etc., promote new meanings, modern dimensions and novel capabilities of decrepit biotechnology. It also provided a modern aspect of microbial interference in the agricultural practices, such as bio-control agents, bio-fertilizers and various microbiological products used in the current agricultural sector. Conclusion: Thus, the current biotechnological trends can have a striking impact on the advancement of vegetable crops. The above review concludes with an emphasis on the revolution in the field of biotechnology that highlights advancement of horticulture science, which is accomplished with superior quality and higher productivity of vegetable crops.

Cancer of non-small lung cells (NSCLC) is the most prevalent kind of lung cancer. Targeting NSCLC, we investigate the anticancer effect of antiviral drug compounds against the EGFR kinase domain. Scope of The Experiments: The 3D protein structure of the EGFR kinase domain (1XKK) was derived from the RCSB PDB library. First, an ADME study was conducted, followed by Lipinski's rule of five-based toxicity analysis of the compounds. After screening for ADME and toxicity, the remaining drugs were docked to the EGFR kinase domain (PDB ID: 1XKK). For docking, the Autodock Vina application was deployed. Using the application Discovery Studio 2019, the docking discovery was investigated. Results: The binding affinity of the standard drug compounds Afatinib Dimaleate, and Gemcitabine to the active site of the EGFR kinase domain was-8.9, and-8.4, respectively. In contrast, the binding affinity of our lead drug compound (Diphyllin) to the active region of the EGFR kinase domain was-10 kcal/mol, which is superior to the both selected standard drug compounds. In addition, the found chemical generates a greater number of hydrogen bonds than our chosen benchmark compounds, indicating that it is more stable. An examination of root means square fluctuation was done to appreciate the dynamic motions of the ligand-protein complex. Findings and Conclusions: Due to its capacity to suppress the activity of the target protein EGFR kinase domain, which plays a vital role in the progression of NSCLC, Diphyllin shows great potential as an anti-NSCLC medication. To validate GSC Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2022, 21(01), 129-143 130 further our promising findings based on preliminary and in-silico analysis, in-vitro and in-vivo investigations are necessary.

Every year in India, oral cancer causes about 7% of all cancer deaths in males and 4% in females. Oral submucous fibrosis, predominantly seen in south and south-east Asia, is a chronic incidious disabling potential premalignant condition. OSMF is a disease that causes changes similar to those of systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) but limited to oral tissues. It derives its name from the dense fibrous tissue in the submucous layer of the palate and cheek, represents a clinical picture of its well-developed state, which results in intolerance to spicy foods, a burning sensation in the mouth, xerostomia, limitation of mouth opening, tongue mobility, swallowing or phonation. The diagnosis of OSMF can be established by various methods such as biochemical investigations and biopsy. Oral submucous fibrosis is most poorly understood and unsatisfactorily treated disease because of unknown etiol...

Stress in general is thought of as an element in our daily chores of life as an effect of various perturbing modules or stressors to compromise health. Stressors, the causes of stress could perturb homeostasis or balance among various physiological processes. Depending of the extent of perturbation, the balance among physiology can be jeopardized to varied level and set the stage for onset of diseases. We initiated work in Dr. Aich’s laboratory to develop a web based tool to understand effects of stress on various physiological functions and diseases in humans, rat, mouse to assist researcher to understand the cause of onset of a disease and molecular basis for development of better interventions.
