The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the healthcare system, particularly healthcare providers such as nurses/medical technicians, who were obliged to adhere to strict procedures and manage their time effectively during shifts. The aim of this study was to identify internal strengths, weaknesses, threats, and challenges in palliative care management during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of nurses/medical technicians. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted on a 100% sample of nurses/medical technicians working in hospital-based palliative care in two clinics in Belgrade (47 respondents in total). The research instrument was a Questionnaire on Employee Satisfaction. The survey was conducted during September and October 2022. Results. Assessing the job satisfaction of nurses/ medical technicians revealed moderate job satisfaction (3.43), which was mostly influenced by appropriate financial compensation and the implementation of measures to prevent and control the spread of the COVID-19 infection. The dimensions of management that were significantly related to respondents' satisfaction were motivation and adequacy of hygienic conditions and measures to control COVID-19 (χ 2 = 62.83, p = 0.004 and χ 2 = 36.42, p = 0.006, respectively). Conclusion. Nurses/medical technicians who experience stress at work in regular conditions tend to react the same way in different conditions, such as those related to COVID-19 infection. The most difficult challenge that the management faces is the recognition of the importance of the work of nurses/medical technicians by the community. Therefore, it is vital to respect and support the most important professional values of nurses/medical technicians, such as valuable achievements, the importance of professional challenges, personal growth and development, and independence in practice.

Gait analysis during ascending and descending stairs (20 stair ascends and descends) was conducted in a patient with a unilateral transfemoral amputation and integrated neural sensory feedback (NSFB), with the aim to compare biomechanical parameters between the healthy and the prosthetic leg in conditions with and without NSFB. (2) Methods: Transversal-type research was conducted at the beginning of the patient's rehabilitation and without prior gait training in conditions with NSFB. Complete study included several months of different gait testing with and without the NSFB. Data analyzed in this study are just a small portion of the overall dataset (only one subject, one recording session, reduced amount of trials in one condition), used for showing the validity of the proposed methodology for gait analysis and proving proof of concept. The analyzed parameters included stance, time, and speed of ascending and descending stairs in conditions with and without NSFB, measured for both legs. The data were processed using statistical software (SPSS Statistics version 24), with descriptive statistics and paired-sample t-tests to determine differences in gait parameters between the healthy and the prosthetic leg. (3) Results: The results revealed statistically significant differences (p = 0.00) in all three examined parameters (stance, time, and speed) between conditions with and without NSFB. (4) Conclusions: Gait stance, time, and the speed of ascending and descending stairs can be controlled and tailored in real time using NSFB.

In modern global times, the answer to the question of how to live well is palliative care. It is a type of care that is dedicated to creating circumstances in which the process of dying, and death itself, becomes a dignified and acceptable moment. The palliative approach is based on empathy, understanding, on preserving the dignity of the patient, on open two-way communication, as well as on caring for the patient?s family. Objective. This article comprises three aims. The first aim refers to introducing our professional milieu to the basic concepts and philosophy of palliative care. The second aim points out the importance of multidisciplinary and comprehensive care (physical, psycho-social, and spiritual) in palliative care in general. The third aim is to critically consider various obstacles and resistance that exists in our environment regarding the organization of palliative care, through the prism of various models of palliative care around the world, particularl...

Therefore, in the conditions of an increase in the number of people suffering from malignant diseases, the application of digital communications provides new frameworks for the provision of healthcare services as well as the organization of some preventive activities. The paper tests the differences in answers between respondents who have different demographic characteristics, general health assessment, performed screening and received information about malignant diseases. Carrying out this research, the authors want to draw attention to the current issues of the healthcare system, in order to define some strategies for new ways of doing business in healthcare. All their efforts are in that context.

The author's contribution to this work is reflected in pointing out the basic factors and essential problems that arise when reforming the educational system in order to apply the concept of education for sustainable development. The paper offers solutions to these problems, providing established guidelines on how to reform the education system. In this case, it is about the perception of students of three regional centers-Niš and Kosovska Mitrovica in Serbia, and East Sarajevo-Pala in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The results of our research show that a very small number of students are familiar with the emergence of the idea of OR, which confirms the fact that awareness and especially knowledge of citizens about OR, both at the level of the EU and especially at the level of Serbia, is far from desirable and necessary. The results of the research can be useful for decision makers who participate in the creation of the educational system; and they would be particularly significant for the reform of the education system in Serbia, where education for sustainable development is still viewed as a theoretical rather than a practical issue.
