This study is an experiment about the effects of English Songs in Teaching English as a Foreign L... more This study is an experiment about the effects of English Songs in Teaching English as a Foreign Language carried out in the city of Beira, Republic of Mozambique involving English language teachers and Service English students from Universidade Pedagógica de Moçambique-Beira. The reason behind this study is found in the problem that administrators, teachers and students are not taking English songs seriously for the purposes of teaching as they regard them as a waste of time. This study, nevertheless, endeavours to show that different stimuli in English Songs if appropriate procedures in English language teaching are followed can without a doubt increase students' interest, motivation, creativity, imagination and defends the need of capitalizing on the use of English songs in the classroom activities to foster the four language skills namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. It also, suggests more time and attention to English songs in English language teaching curriculum as it would increase students' motivation and their involvement in English language learning besides the rich linguistic and cultural knowledge advantage.
