Primary single-intramuscular hydatid disease is rare, even in endemic regions of the world. Here we report the case of exceptional thigh mass due to a hydatid cyst in an Iranian man. Case presentation: An 86-year-old man, initially presented to Velayat teaching hospital surgery clinic in May 2017 with a single right-thigh mass, but physical examinations of other organs were unremarkable. Based on sonographic findings, the differential diagnosis was hydatid cyst. He underwent surgical resection of the cyst. Histopathological results confirmed the diagnosis. There was no evidence of recurrence of the lesion during the 23-month follow-up. Conclusion: Increase thigh mass due to a hydatid cyst is a rare event. In endemic regions with the presence of hydatid cysts, especially physicians of surgical clinics have to consider differential diagnosis of hydatid cysts in unusual locations in case of such a les...

Methods: A total of 740 pregnant women referred to two health centers in Qazvin province were surveyed voluntarily for anti-T. gondii IgG and IgM antibodies by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IgG avidity test was used as a confirmatory test for samples showing positive or borderline results for IgM antibodies. Data on socioeconomic, demographic, and knowledge of participants about toxoplasmosis were collected using questionnaires and through face-to-face interviews. Multivariable logistic regression modeling was used to identify the potential predictor variables for T. gondii infection. Results: Overall, 21.2% (157/740) and 0.27% (2/740) of pregnant women were positive for T. gondii IgG and IgM antibodies, respectively. Only 1.7% (13/740) of expectant mothers had prior information on toxoplasmosis. Among socioeconomic and demographic variables, contact with soil was the merely cause of a significant association with T. gondii infection. Other variables including age, occupation, education level, residential area, source of drinking water, abortion history, number of delivery, consumption of raw/undercooked meat, having home cat and and consumption of raw vegetables failed to establish significant associations. Conclusion: Our results clarified that the prevalence of T. gondii has remarkably reduced in the study area. This finding indicates a low risk of congenital toxoplasmosis in this region.

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of motherbaby skin-to-skin care on neonatal outcomes in preterm infants, in Kosar hospital. Methods: This was a descriptive comparative study conducted on 400 nulliparous women with premature infants admitted to neonatal intensive care unit of Kosar hospital during April 2012 and March 2015. Sampling was performed via convenience sampling. Sample population divided into two groups, one of them 200, the kangaroo care and non-care groups. The data were obtained by a researcher prepared check list, including mother's demographic characteristics and neonatal outcomes. Both descriptive and statistical analysis methods were applied. For analyzing the data, chi-square test, t-test, and logistic regression tests was applied (P <0.05). Results: The results showed that neonatal outcomes such as birth weight, frequency of breastfeeding, length of hospitalization of infants, re-admission, needing incubator and oxygen aid, hospital acquired infections, jaundice and hypoglycemia were significantly lower in the intervention group (P<0.05). But the incidence of intraventricular hemorrhage and neonatal respiratory distress syndrome in participants between the two groups were not statistically significant (P >0.05). In the intervention group, the relationship between maternal variables and neonatal outcome was significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Motherbaby skin-to-skin care has a positive effect on neonatal outcomes. Thus, supporting and awareness of premature infants' mothers in order to implement this type of care can reduce the neonatal complications. Moreover, it is effective in decreasing the treatment costs.

In this regards, increased satisfaction of patients related to promoting the quality of health care and this can be achieved by implementing patient rights Charter. This study aimed to evaluate the patients' awareness and their satisfaction of implementing patient rights at Kowsar Hospital in Qazvin. Methods: This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted on 565 female patients during 2014-2015. Data collection tool consisted of a questionnaire in 3 sections including demographic information, awareness of the rights and satisfaction of implementing the charter of rights. The questionnaire validity and reliability was confirmed by content validity and split-half method respectively (r=0.87).Data were analyzed by using Descriptive statistics and non-parametric test (Spearmans correlation test, kruskal-wallis test) through SPSS software. Results: based on results, the average of awareness score and satisfaction score was 7.325±2.4 and 3.89± 1.8 respectively, which represent a moderate awareness and poor satisfaction. The results showed that satisfaction in different age groups was not statistically significant difference with awareness (P=0.991) but there is a significant difference in satisfaction between different age groups (P=0.000). There is also a statistically significant difference between different levels of education with awareness (P=0.000), but there is not a significant difference in satisfaction between different educational levels (P=0.122). Finally, there was no statistically significant relationship between awareness and satisfaction scores (P = 0.158, r= 0.059). Conclusions: patients awareness and satisfaction of patient rights provision was not appropriate, so, educational planning for promoting knowledge and attitude of patient about patient right Charter by hospital quality managers is necessary. This change in patient's attitude will increase the demand for implementing patient right Charter and thus increase the level of satisfaction.
