Summary

Last year's Third Conference runner-up Seven-Up Uncolas failed to advance in the semifinal round of the first two conferences. Starting the Governor's Cup, the team became known as Pepsi Mega Bottlers, they brought in Anthony Martin as their import, who scored 40 points in his debut, a 107-124 loss by Pepsi to Swift. [1] After playing only one game, Martin was replace and Kenny Redfield, who was their import in the Commissioner's Cup, was recalled back. The Bottlers won seven of their next nine games and made it to the semifinal round this time with Redfield enjoying a three-inch height advantage over his counterparts due to the handicap ruling. The Mega Bottlers won four of their eight matches in the semifinals and played Swift Mighty Meaties in a sudden-death playoff in the first of two knockout games to determine the second finals berth. [2] The Bottlers lost to Swift in double-overtime, 122-124 on November 30.
