2nd Signal Brigade was an operational Brigade of the Royal Corps of Signals with a regular HQ, 1 regular regiment, and a number of Territorial Army signal regiments.
History
The brigade was established as 2nd Signal Group (Static Communications Network) in 1968; it became 2nd Signal Brigade in 1982 and, after being deployed during the Gulf War in 1990, became 2nd (National Communications) Signal Brigade in 1992.[1]
Following successive cuts by the Ministry of Defence, the number of Territorial Army (TA) signal regiments was reduced over several years. At the end of 2012[2] the Brigade was disbanded[3] and the majority of the units transferred to newly created 2nd Signal Group, 11th Signal Brigade.[4]
