The ala of the nose (wing of the nose) is the lateral surface of the external nose, cartilagenous in makeup, and flares out to form a rounded eminence around the nostril. It is elevated by the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle and receives sensory innervation by the maxillary division of the trigeminal nerve.[1]
