Bagnara Calabra (or simply Bagnara, Greek: Keramida) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region of Calabria, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southwest of Catanzaro and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of Reggio Calabria.

Overview

The municipality of Bagnara Calabra contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) of Ceramida, Solano, and Pellegrina.

Bagnara Calabra borders the following municipalities: Melicuccà, Sant'Eufemia d'Aspromonte, Scilla, Seminara.

Bagnara is known for its torrone, a typical village delicacy, and also for its swordfish. The inhabitants of Bagnara have lived for centuries off of fishing and agriculture. It was very famous for its mulberry groves for sericulture. Then, all the terraces were converted to vineyards for the cultivation of wine grapes.

Over the course of the past few years, the village has been converted to a tourist attraction, appealing to the region's many summer visitors.
