Cannabis in Seychelles

Cannabis in Seychelles is illegal. A 2003 report indicates that cannabis and alcohol are the only drugs commonly found in the nation.[1]

History

Seychelles' laws banning cannabis were copied verbatim from the 1882 legislation in Mauritius. This caused some confusion as Mauritius had re-opened the cannabis trade in 1883, then closed it again in 1887, leaving some confusion as to which laws continued to apply to Seychelles.[2]
