Charles Edward "Chuck" Share (March 14, 1927 – June 7, 2012) was an American basketball player. He was the first draft pick in NBA history, being selected by the Boston Celtics as the number one pick in 1950. Share never played for the Celtics, however.
Share started his NBA career with the Fort Wayne Pistons and played nine years in that league for the Pistons, Milwaukee Hawks/St. Louis Hawks, and the Minneapolis Lakers. Share led the NBA in disqualifications during the 1954-55 season.[1] He was the captain of the 1958 NBA champion St. Louis Hawks team.[2]
