Denis Gargaud Chanut is a French slalom canoer who has been competing in C-1 since the mid-2000s. Between 2009 and 2012 he also competed in the C-2 category alongside Fabien Lefèvre.

He won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with three golds (C-1: 2011, C-2 team: 2010, 2011), three silvers (C-1 team: 2009, C-2: 2010, 2011) and one bronze (C-1 team: 2013). He also won 5 medals at the European Championships (1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronzes).
