Denis Parkinson

Denis Jack Robert Parkinson (13 June 1915[1] – 16 March 2004) birth registered in Wakefield, was a Grand Prix motorcycle road racer of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, and a founder member and President of the Wakefield and District Motor Sports Club,[2] and won the 1947 Isle of Man TT Clubmans Junior TT on a 350cc Norton, and the 1953 Senior Manx Grand Prix.[3][4]

Genealogical information

Denis Parkinson's marriage to Patricia Hoyle Bateson, of Wibsey, Bradford was registered during April→June 1948 in Bradford district.[5] They had children; Susan G. Parkinson (birth registered during January→March 1952 (age 71–72) in Wakefield district), and Kim R. Parkinson (birth registered during January→Sep 1959 (age 64–65) in Bradford district). Denis Parkinson was the older brother of Evelyn Parkinson (birth registered during October→December 1918 in Wakefield district).

Denis Parkinson's funeral service took place at Wakefield Crematorium, West Yorkshire, on Friday 26 March 2004.
