Gerald Andrew Kelly (30 September 1902 – August 2 1964) was an American Jesuit Roman Catholic priest, writer, and bioethicist. He has been called the "father of American Catholic medical ethics."[1]
Biography
Gerald Andrew Kelly was born in Denver, Colorado, the son of Andrew Kelly and Mary Higgins. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1920. Kelly obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in arts at St. Louis University. He was ordained in 1933 and took his doctorate in theology at the Gregorian University in Rome in 1937.[2]
