Gnathocharax steindachneri is a species of characin found in Orinoco and Amazon Basins. It is also found as an aquarium fish. It is the sole member of its genus. This species is known to be found in freshwater environments at pelagic depths.[2] They are native to a tropical climate. The average length of an unsexed male is about 5 cm (1.9 in). [3]
