Hayley Marie Norman (born March 3, 1984) is an American film and television actress known for numerous roles including the critically acclaimed Top Five, as well as Fired Up, Hancock, Beyond the Lights, Trailer Park of Terror, Our Family Wedding,Norbit. Aside from features films, she has also stars in several television shows including recurring roles abc's Selfie, on the Starz cable network series Crash in which she acted opposite Dennis Hopper, and BET's long running The Game. She was also seen on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Bones, and New Girl, amongst numerous others.

She first came to public attention as case model #25 on NBC's game show Deal or No Deal, where she stood out as one of the most recognizable briefcase models[2] and became a fan favorite due to her energetic and outgoing personality as well as her curly hair.[3] On Deal or No Deal, Hayley statistically had the Million dollar case more than any other model on the show. She was such a fan favorite and featured so heavily that the Producers wrote an entire episode around her signature hair. This episode was titled, "The Fro Show". Other episodes include Hayley making a special appearance as the infamous Banker. There was another episode where the contestant requested that Hayley be the only model on stage and had her open all 26 cases.

Hayley is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, She has written, produced, and starred in several online videos and sketches that have garnered millions of views individually. Her videos have been featured on the front page of Funny Or Die where they were named one of the "Best of 2014".

Early life and education

Born and raised in Agoura Hills, California, she is of Russian, German, and African American descent.[4] Hayley began her career as a child, signing with her first agency at seven years old after being spotted in a restaurant by supermodel Cindy Crawford.[5] As a youth, she traveled extensively pursuing modeling and acting and even modeled regularly for Mattel doing a series of ads for the African American Barbie doll.[6]

Hayley was chosen to be one of the few and highly distinguished California Arts Scholars in which she was awarded a Governor's medallion, the highest distinction in California for artistically talented students an unprecedented two years in a row. Hayley continued her training and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Upright Citizens Brigade honing her skills as both a dramatic actress and comedian.

Film and television career

Norman started her career doing commercials as a child. She then guest starred on the David E. Kelley created show Boston Public. After that she made guest appearances on Shark, Brothers & Sisters, and The Young and the Restless.

2006-2010

Norman joined the hit television show Deal Or No Deal as Case Model #25. She appeared on the show for three seasons, while taking time off to shoot film and television projects. Norman had a recurring role as "Kaylee" on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. She appeared in her first feature film, Norbit, alongside Eddie Murphy and Cuba Gooding, Jr. Norman appeared alongside Will Smith in the box office hit Hancock, which was directed by Peter Berg.

She portrayed the lead role of "Amber" in the horror film Trailer Park of Terror. She had a recurring role opposite Dennis Hopper on the first original series produced by the Starz cable network, Crash playing Jocko Sims' character's love interest in the first season. Based on the Academy Award winning film, the show was executive produced by Academy Award winner writer Paul Haggis. Norman played "Angela" in the Screen Gems high school comedy Fired Up. Roger Ebert praised Norman's performances as Angela. He stated that she was "the most intriguing member of the cast".[7]

Norman appeared in the comedy Our Family Wedding, alongside Forest Whitaker, America Ferrara, and Lance Gross. Later that year, she starred alongside Elliott Gould and Sara Rue in the comedy Dorfman in Love. She also guest starred on CSI: NY and CSI: Miami, both of which air on the CBS network. On CSI: Miami, she portrayed a roller derby skater and trained alongside the famed Los Angeles Derby Dolls for the role. She took a liking to the sport, and continued to skate with them long after the episode wrapped.

2011-present

Norman appeared in the pilot episode of the Fox sitcom New Girl, alongside Zooey Deschanel. Norman recurred on the BET TV Show The Game. She has also shot an episode for the new USA Network TV series Common Law, alongside the series stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole.[8] She landed a role playing the love interest to Donald Faison in the TV Land series The Exes. Norman starred in a five-part British reality television show called Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights. Norman starred in the Das Racist music video for their song Girl, released on YouTube on October 23.[9]

She starred in the role of "Raina" on the first season of the sitcom Mr. Box Office alongside Bill Bellamy, Vivica A. Fox, and Tim Meadows. Norman was also pegged as the host for the brand new music show Real Music Live (along with co-host Prolifik) which aired on NBC, following Saturday Night Live. She interviewed various music acts including Faith Evans, Hoobastank, and Chris Rene. Norman guest starred in an episode of the ABC sitcom, How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life), alongside Sarah Chalke and Brad Garrett. Norman guest starred on an episode of the Fox show Bones in an episode entitled "Party in the Pants".

She will appear on the A&E show The Glades as a character by the name of Josie Cruz whose nickname is The Cuban Missile.

In May 2013, Hayley Marie Norman booked a recurring role on the TV Land series The Soul Man starring Cedric the Entertainer and Niecy Nash. Hayley will play Tonya, a love interest to Wesley Jonathan. In June 2013, Hayley Marie Norman will appear on the cover of Mercy For Animals' popular Vegetarian Starter Guide alongside actress Fiona Gubelmann. In July 2013 Hayley Marie Norman was chosen as the female lead in L.A. Rangers, a webseries for the CW network. The project was written by and stars Wilson Bethel and will debut in October of this year of CWtv. In 2013 Hayley Marie Norman also formed a sketch group in which they write and perform all their own material. Their videos have been featured on the front page of Funny Or Die where they were named one of the "Best of 2014".

Hayley was recurring on the ABC show Selfie after having appeared in the pilot episode for it as well. Hayley appeared in Top Five and Beyond The Lights, both of which had their world premieres at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. In Top Five, a film written by, directed by, and starring Chris Rock, she played Tammy. The project reunited her with Cedric The Entertainer, whose show The Soul Man (TV Land) she appeared on earlier in the year. Top Five was produced by Scott Rudin, Kanye West, and Jay-Z. The film was acquired by Paramount at the Toronto International Film Fest.

Hello Cupid, the online series that Hayley produces and stars in, was accepted into the Tribeca Film Festival based on industry referrals. In October 2014, Hayley was asked to reprise her role as Bianca as the popular BET show The Game for additional future episodes. Hello Cupid, the online series that Hayley stars and produces, was included by Vulture in their article "5 Great Webseries You Should Be Watching Now". The semi-scripted series from Black & Sexy TV draws largely on her improv and comedy skills. Hayley landed the role of Isobel on the popular IFC show Comedy Bang! Bang! Hayley plays Isobel, the daughter to Network Presidente (David Alan Grier) and tutor to Scott Aukerman.

Activism

Hayley is an animal rights activist and vegan. She also writes as a guest contributor on the vegetarian, eco-friendly, and animal rights website, ThisDishIsVegetarian.com.[10]
