Higashimatsuyama (東松山市 Higashimatsuyama-shi?, literally "East Pine-Tree Mountain") is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on July 1, 1954.[citation needed]

Demographics
As of 1 April 2011[update], the city has an estimated population of 89,647, with 35,720 households and a population density of 1,372.22 persons per km². The total area is 65.33 km2 (25.22 sq mi).[citation needed]
Transport
The city is served by Takasaka and Higashi-Matsuyama Stations on the privately operated Tobu Tojo Line, providing a direct rail service to Ikebukuro in Tokyo.

Culture
In 1967, the Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels, was established in Higashimatsuyama.
