Lawsuit vs. Financial Advisor
Odrick sued Jinesh “Hodge” Brahmbhatt and his firm Jade Private Wealth Management in McLean, Virg., as well as Success Trade, an online trading company. The lawsuit was announced on Friday by Sonn & Erez, the law firm representing Odrick.
Brahmbhatt, who is the founder and CEO of Jade Management, had previously stated that more than 30 of his clients had purchased about $12 million in fraudulent notes from Success Trade. He had sent an e-mail to some of his clients indicating that it was unclear whether they would get their money back.
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra) had placed a red flag on Success Trade for allegedly selling $18 million in fraudulent and unregistered promissory notes. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice and the Securities Exchange Commission are also investigating Success Trade.
Of the 58 clients that were sold these investments, 30 of them were professional athletes, the website notes. The other professional athletes who bought promissory notes from Success Trade included Vernon Davis, Joe Haden, Brandon Knight, and former professional football players Clinton Portis and Adewale Ogunleye.[9][10]
