John Auld

John Auld (7 January 1862 – 29 April 1932) was a Scottish footballer who played for Sunderland and Scotland as a central defender. Auld played for Sunderland during 1890 to 1895 where he won two League Championships, in; 1892 and 1893, and the 1894/95 World Championship.[1] After making 100 league appearances and scoring 5 goals, Auld left Sunderland for their arch rivals, Newcastle United. He later became a director of Newcastle United.[2]
Auld gained his first cap for Scotland on 19 March 1887 against England where they won 3–2.[3] He went on to make three appearances for his country, scoring no goals.[4]
