Kekistan, officially Sovereign Order of Kekistan, is a self-proclaimed micronation on parcels of "No man's land" on the western bank of the Danube river between borders of Croatia and Serbia, and holding territory between Egypt and Sudan in North Africa. The state is acknowledged by Russia. Kekistan is a politically conservative state, named in honour and worship of Pepe, though its constitution requires citizens respect of Christianity, at least in a cultural sense. It was formed on April 16th 2015 by the Autia claim upon Terra nullius pieces of land (no man's land) out of Croatian state borders, on the Danube right bank from 1405 km to 1355 km of the flow of the river.

Geography

It stands on the western bank of the Danube river about 85 km down from the Hungarian border between borders of Croatia and Serbia. Before the Yugoslav Wars the territory was a part of a remarkable nature reserve park, now divided between Croatia and Serbia by their borders and Danube river, excluding five small pieces of land, one of which is claimed by Liberland, and the other four by Kekistan. The second-largest land pocket is the Kekistani capital, the City of Jonesia ("Rid") – a small triangle of land in the forest the opposite side side of the Danube than the Serbian town of Apatin - here the plan is to establish the Temple of Jonesia, the headquarters of the Keksitani Knights. Second is Dixie Bank province ("Gorno Podunavie"), and the third is Hampshire Sands province ("Dolno Podunavie") south of Dixie Bank. A third province is Nova Cambria, to the north, the other side of Liberland.

Recognition

At 3:22 AM on the 3rd of April 2017, Russia acknowledged the existence of Kekistan. Other attempts have been made by supporters to gain recognition for Kekistan. Lucy Brown was seen waving a Kekistani flag in a Rebel Media report. When the Kekistani ambassador to Britain noticed that shitposters technically could classify as an ethnic group for the British Census, he contacted them and requested that Kekistani be added to the census. After his video on the subject, support for the state spread rapidly with the hashtag #FreeKekistan. He was eventually unsuccessful in getting the tongue-in-cheek ethnicity added to the British Census, and credited his failure as partly due to the listing at Know Your Meme. He suggested that if only 10,000 or so people write in 'Kekistani' as their ethnicity in the 2021 Census, it could become an official ethnicity of Britain, similar to the Jedi census phenomenon.

History of the area

At the end of Roman era barbarian invasions clearly depopulated the region of the antic inhabitants. First mass of bulgarians settle here around 400 A.D. and for this write Pavlus Orosius (375- 418) in his world known manuscript "Geography". After Turk invasion in Europe at the end of 13 and beginning of 14 century the Second Bulgarian Empire fall under their yoke and crown of the Bulgarian tzars go to Hungarian kingdom. In 1425 bulgarian Crown prince Fruzhin son of the last Tzar Ivan Shishman of Bulgaria awarded by Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor and Hungarian king with possession and fortress Lipa close to here for the brave fighting against Turks. In 1541 all this region fall under the Turkish yoke for 140 years, at the end is liberated by Austro-Hungarian troops and become a part of his state. In 1689, 1726–1730, 1739 etc. till 1878 more bulgarian like mass of refugees from Turks after the anti Turk wars and Christian uprisings are resettled here. Empress Maria Theresa (1717–1780) give them special decree that "this lands since old times are bulgarian and the refugees have a legal right and can settle in their fathers lands included in Imperial borders". Austro – Hungarian Empire after 240 years governed the region fall in 1918 and begin Serb-Croatian-Montenegrin then Yugoslav ruling for about 70 years, excluding in 1941–1945 when this lends were Hungarian. In the beginning of 90 years of 20 century Yugoslavia crumbled in civil war. According to previous and final peace agreement – Erdut Agreement at 15 January 1998 the state border of Croatia on the right bank of Danube exclude of Croatian territory 5 small i.e. "pockets" considered them as Serbian and pretend for some areal on the left bank, but Srebia reject Croatian claims and fixed Serbian state border on the middle of the River Danube and refuse to have any lands on the right bank of the river. In this way born 5 micro territories "No men land" since spring of 2015 when they one after other they proclaimed Independence.

Establishment of the Principality

On the 29th of March 2015, Prince Luke of the House of Nash-Jones did claim the 2,060 km sq (800 sq mi) uninhabited, stateless former British territory of Bir Tawil (at 21°52′14″North 33°44′14″East) located along the border between Egypt and Sudan in North Africa as territory of the Principality of Jonesia, and Marie Byrd Land (between 158°W and 103°24’W) as the Jonesian Antarctic Territory. On the 1st of April 2017, Prince Luke welcomed Kekistani refugees. The Confederation of Autia had already claimed several unclaimed areas of land between Serbia and Croatia in April 16th 2015, before the "Kingdom of Ongal", on the basis of Terra nullius axiom of the Public international law. The Autia claim absorbed into the Sovereign Order of Kekistan as the Danubian province.

Prince Luke proclaimed with national flag of Kekistan, coat of arms, national anthem, currency design, post stamp design and all others state isignia and structure. Amongst supporters of the state, the term "Shadilay", used as a greeting, referring to the 1986 album by P.E.P.E featuring a green frog on the album artwork.</ref> The song is also used as the civic national anthem for the country. The state is Absolute monarchy governed by Prince-Bishop Luke and his Round Table. Due to the land's previous status as a nature park, being uninhabitеd forest, there are no permanent residents, so the Principality have no population on the ground thus no elections are possible, though the constitution allows for election of a Parliament.

Ongal invaders

On the 24th of May 2015, Bulgarian and Hungarian tourists Kekistan, declared Jonesia, the capital of Kekistan, to be "Camp Rid", "with the reason to take care for this abandoned and not cleaned of explosive mines small pieces of lends and its Danubian banks destroying by the flow of the river, defend their statute of hi level protected Natural Park with very important habitats for Central Europe and Balkans and for other hand to have for them a responsible state government that prevent this "No men lend" to become a nest of criminality, contraband of narcotics and, let save us God, home for terrorists ". The invaders came to the territory seeking to declare the Danube Ecological Principality of Ongal

However, the Confederation of Autia had already claimed these territories on April 16th 2015, before the "Kingdom of Ongal", a claim that was taken on by the Sovereign Order of Kekistan , and many of the territories claimed by the Kingdom of Ongal are not Terra Nullius. At 3:22 AM on the 3rd of April 2017, Russia acknowledged the existence of Kekistan.

On the 17 of June 2015, the invaders addressed letters for friendship and protection to Croatia, Serbia and Bulgaria. The Ecological Principality has established the mutual recognizing connections and diplomatic relations with different organisations and others similar status states first – with Principality of New Atlantis (in size like Belgium floating island in the Pacific Ocean), 2 – Citizen Sociaty "Mladost -Sofia", 3 – Sociaty "Nezavisim obshtestven kontrol" 4 – the neighbor self-proclaimed country Kingdom of Enclava, 5 – the neighbor self-proclaimed country Republic of Valkadia, 6 – Union of veterans of Bulgarian army, 7 – Kingdom of Elohem, 8 – Kingdom of Ruthenia, 9- Grand Duchy of Lundenwic, 10- Empire of Austenasia, receive greatngs for its sovereignty from other micronations like: Khanate of Nedland and Empire of Quailia, for now it have no recognition by old countries, or by the United Nations, Principality of Ongal is a member of the Danube Council and defence organisation Danube pact. Principality clamed ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 — ON, ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 — ONG, ISO 4217 alfa-3 — DLV.

Politics

Kekistan is a constitutional monarchy, with an elected Parliament of the people. The Sovereign Order of Kekistan’s system of governance is administered from Temple of Jonesia, and those appointed to such by the Prince are called “cardinals”. The Temple is divided into three powers, in line with Montesquieu’s Separation of Powers.

Round Table of Grand Knights

Executive power, which resides with the Prince-Bishop, and is generally exercised by the Grand Chancellor.

Parliament

Legislative power, which rests with the Prince-Bishop but is delegated to Parliament for non-constitutional matters; while resting absolutely with the Prince-Bishop and his Grand Knights of the Round Table as far as constitutional rules are concerned. Only those resident on Kekistani soil may elect the Parliament, thus as the Kekistani territory is yet to be settled, only the a few government officials, due to living on embassy territory, would be qualify. Prince Luke recognised Big Man Tyone is effectively the de facto Grand Chancellor. He has also declared there to be 3 constituencies for Kekistani voters overseas, so as to allow for the election of a temporary Parliament: USA, Britain, and Rest of the World, of which each district has 2 seats. Elections in Kekistan are by Mixed-Member Proportional Representation.

There are two parties registered with the Sovereign Order of Kekistan: the socially conservative, Kekistani Front, led by Andrew Cooper, and the more libertarian, Kekistani Freedom Party, led by Natty Raymond.

Judiciary

Judicial power, which the Grand Justiciar, and the Courts of the Order, exercises on behalf of the Prince-Bishop.

Citizens

Support for Kekistan is popular in the United States amongst alt-right protesters who protested against political correctness in late 2016 and 2017, with 'Kekistanis' decrying the 'oppression' of their people and trolling protesters by waving the 'national flag of Kekistan'. As such it was prominently displayed at the 2017 Berkeley protest for free speech in mid-April.

Prince Luke has endorsed the Fraternal Organisation of the Alt-Knight run by Kyle Chapman “Based Stickman”, with Chapman returning endorsement of the Sovereign Order of Kekistan.

Religion

The deity is Pepe, Kek, the mascot of right-wing nationalists, such as Donald Trump supporters. While a Kekistani is not required to believe in God, the constitution only grants citizenship to those who respect the right-wing nationalism represented by Kek, and who defend Christian principles, even if they only do that our of a respect of their influence on the founding of Western civilisation.

Media

Prince Luke runs the MBGA News network, which some would thus deem to be Kekistani state broadcasting. The network has heavily promoted the Kekistan project, interviewing Kekistani refugees, and running petitions on the street for the British government to acknowledge Kekistan as a state. He has also appeared on and praised the independent Kekistani News Network. The de facto first president of Kekistan, Big Man Tyrone, makes many media reports, as does the Kekistani ambassador to Britain, Sargon of Akkad.
