KCB Bank Uganda Limited (KCB Bank Uganda), is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the central bank and national banking regulator.[3]

Overview
The bank focuses on meeting the banking needs of individuals and corporate entities. As of December 2012[update] KCB Uganda had an asset base valued at about US$131 million (UGX:335.5 billion).[4] That accounted for approximately 2.1 percent of total banking assets in the country at that time.[citation needed]

At that time, the bank's customer base exceeded 59,140 and customer deposits exceeded US$88 million (UGX:217.3 billion), accounting for about 3 percent of bank deposits in Uganda.

History
In November 2007, the first branch of KCB Uganda opened in Kampala, Uganda's capital city, following licensing by the Bank of Uganda. Since then, the bank has opened fourteen more branches in the country. KCB Uganda is a wholly owned subsidiary of the KCB Group. In May 2012, media reports indicated that KCB Uganda was making plans to acquire a licensed financial services institution in Uganda, within the next two years.[6]

Governance
- The chairman of the board of directors is Samwiri Njuki. The managing director is Albert Odongo. He was appointed to that position in June 2010 when his predecessor, James Agin, was promoted to group managing director.[14]
