Korey Lindsey (born February 3, 1989) is an American football cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted 207th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football for the Southern Illinois University.[1]

He has also been a member of the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington Redskins.

High school career

Lindsey attended Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he played wide receiver and defensive back. During his senior year on defense he recorded 76 tackles, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries, 17 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception returned for a touchdown. At wide receiver he gained 1,117 all-purpose yards, averaging 27.6 yards on kickoff returns and 18.9 yards on punt returns. He also Earned All-District honors twice as a wide receiver and twice as a defensive back and was a Two-time All-Metro Baton Rouge first team (2005, 2006). Lindsey was also a member of the baseball and track and field teams.

College career

Playing in every game his freshman year, Lindsey notched 17 tackles on defense in 14 games. During his second year at Southern Illinois, he recorded six interceptions, ranking fifth most in school history.[2] In his final year in Southern Illinois Lindsey obtained the Associated Press's First Team All-America, becoming just the third Saluki in program history to garner First Team All-America accolades in back-to-back seasons. Lindsey was also named Team captain and was a Buck Buchanan Award finalist. He had 41 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one interception and tied for third in the MVFC with seven pass breakups.

Professional career

Cincinnati Bengals

Lindsey was selected 207th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. Cincyjungle.com reported that defensive back Korey Lindsey agreed to a rookie deal on July 29. Lindsey was released during final preseason roster cutdowns.

Arizona Cardinals

Lindsey was signed to Cardinals practice squad.

Indianapolis Colts

Lindsey was claimed off of waivers on May 31, 2012.

Jacksonville Jaguars

He was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad on November 14, 2012 after Antonio Dennard was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured list. He was released from the practice squad on November 15, 2012.

Washington Redskins

Lindsey was signed to the practice squad of the Washington Redskins on December 5.[3] On January 8, 2013, he signed a reserve contract.[4] He was released on April 17.

New Orleans Saints

He was signed by the New Orleans Saints on May 13, 2013.
