Lake Manix is a former lake fed by the Mojave River in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California.
Pluvial lake
During the Pleistocene era (450,000 to 18,000 years ago), this ancient pluvial lake occupied the modern Afton Lake, Troy Lake, and Coyote Lake basins. After the lake filled, it overtopped down Afton Canyon and filled the former Lake Mojave which included today's Soda Lake and Silver Lake basins.
