The Narula Institute of Technology (NiT) is a private engineering college in West Bengal, India, situated in Agarpara, Kolkata, located at 81, Nilgunj Road, Kolkata, 700109.[1] The college is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and the AICTE. It ranks as one of the top engineering colleges[citation needed] in the state of West Bengal. The college is one of seven colleges under the JIS Group a Sikh minority group and a member of AMPAI.

The departments of EE, ECE and IT of the college are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college has been granted as a TEQUIPIII college. The institute has an educational tie up between IIT Kharagpur according to which students of the institute can use some facilities of IIT. It has signed an MOU with NIT Sikkim.

The nearest railway Station is Agarpara (Sealdah, Main), 1.5 km. The nearest airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (DumDum Airport), 20 km.

Placements

Very few core companies visit the college along with IT companies. Infosys conducts a campus connect program with the institute. Placement of Btech civil batch is excellent.

  • Office hours: from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday) and from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday.

Library

The library is computerized. It has 10,000 books, journals and research papers. Each student get at least one text book for each subject for six months(one semester) and four reference books for two weeks (may be reissued again if available). A reading room is attached to the library. The reading room of the library can accommodate 100 students.

Amenities area

NIT has a boys hostel and a girls hostel, both outside the campus area , guest house (off campus), Common room both for boys and girls, Reading room, Internet center, Cafeteria, Canteen, Xerox center, Auditorium, and Seminar hall. The reading room, common room and cafeteria, accommodate 100 students each.
